That's pretty much the opposite of how I felt. They seem to have basically grouped up people so you're never trying to follow every character at once. You'll probably have 4 teams, with the film not really focusing on all 4 at any one time. It should work pretty well My other concern was the likelihood there wouldn't be time to explore things like the Vision/Wanda relationship, but they even showed something to put that concern to bed too.I love the use of the Avengers theme too. There hasn't been much musical consistency in the Marvel movies outside of a few main themes here and there, so it's nice to hear that in the trailer. |

Registered 9 years agoYes, I hope this is what they end up doing. It will definitely fall apart if they try to give everyone an arc - the last Avengers movie was stretching it, and that had fewer characters than this. But if they focus on just a few "teams", then it could work better. -

There's a minor fan backlash atm from people concerned that they have neutered Thanos. He did lpok a lot more menacing in his initial appearance than he does in this. -

Registered 16 years agoYou can't really tell anything from that trailer. Its just 'starring this guy... and those guys... and him again.... and this films version of the putty patrol for them to whale on'.
Its really pointless.

Would Deadpool be toned down? -
I'm not a massive fan of Thanos's look, but the original post credit one was a bit too cartoony, really. -

The X-Men would make no sense in this world. They don't make much sense in the comic world. Their most interesting stories are the ones about human mutant tension, but it's always seemed odd that a section of people with powers (mutants) are vilified, but others aren't.

Having the X-Men as we know them join the MCU world would just be odd. A few lone cases might be okay, but having loads of mutants would be daft. -

I prefer those trailers to ones where the entire plot and/or best moments are given away.

I agree with you but I reckon they could actually make it work if they do the birth of the mutant population in the MCU.

You could actually chronicle the event that causes the mutation, which would naturally alarm the population at large (as families would be affected and you get personal stories). The current heroes would then remain heroes, and help to form the creation of Xavier's school for the gifted.
You then get relate-able character like Spider-man who could act as a role model to those kids, etc. -

That could be really interesting. You could have a reverse M-Day where Scarlet Witch wills mutants into existence or hybrid it with the Inhuman's Terrigen Mists mass activating the mutant gene.

Registered 17 years agoI can't see that because its too convoluted. They have/are setting up different dimensions but, so far at least, not multiple Earths.
I feel like that's line that won't be crossed, yet if ever, because it might be too much like jumping the shark for the mass audience.
And they won't keep canon with any of the other stuff, nor keep the same cast. They'll wipe the slate clean and do their version of their material. -

Registered 17 years agoThey won’t recast anything that won’t be part of the MCU. I expect Deadpool will stay separate until it doesnt. If the X-men join the MCU then Deadpool either needs to remain separate or get wiped due to the X-men that feature in those films.
I’d expect, if the X-men are included, for everything to be wiped. Same way previous Spider-men are ignored. They don’t have to be “soft canon” to not do origin stories again, though they could completely redo all the origins so we’re not watching the same things. Think MJ, Liz and Vulture in Homecoming, where they kept everything necessary and rewrote what they needed.
