I liked the books and the trailer looks kick ass. Finally some steam punk films eh?

Peter Let's forget about The Hobbit Jackson is involved.

I'm on board with this. Really enjoyed the books. Always imagined the whole traction city concept working really well as anime. Hopefully the cgi doesn't let down a live action version.

Well , just watched the trailer. Not much for a non book (wanker) to go on.

    Municipal Darwinism at its finest!

The first trailer indicates they very much have. There's been a minor brouhaha about it.

I'm hoping she's basically Two-Face beneath the bandana but I'm guessing it might end up being a slight pale mark and like when an 'ugly' girl in glasses gets a makeover and is a total babe in a high school/college movie if they have prettied her up

New trailer is up and it looks good. Slightly worried it's all the books in one film though. Looks that way from the trailer but maybe I'm just remembering things wrong.

The girl drops her scarf and is not horribly misformed. No surprise there...

But hey, pretty impressive steam punk.

I'm struggling to think back. It's possibly two books I think but it's been 10 years.

Prettiness isn't a surprise but I hoped for more scarring.

Having looked into it I think I was mistaken. The stuff in the film is all from book one.

    Looks really cool imo

It certainly is. One of the best YA fantasy series I read.

The seemed more like a brief summary of the film than a trailer. I don't mind this time because I've read the books but I really need to stop watching these things...

Itís Pete, fran and Phillipa. Think I can get onboard with it. Hadnít heard of it before the movie trailers this past year then Iím not all that well read these days. Hoping it will be worth a look.

I always thought that it would have made for a great Ghibli style anime. Live action is cool though and it looks like Peter Jackson has learnt from the cgi nothingness of The Hobbit and put some weight into this.

I'd definitely recommend the books if you're after a big adventure.

I knew I remembered watching a giant St Paul's tank and people chanting London some time ago, but completely forgot about it until now. Looks brill, and it's out next month.

Those trailers do nothing for me. It's just a bunch of CG.

Acting itself seems a bit off, too.
