Well, that's another year down. Interesting year, it was, but now it's over we have the joy of the mostly annual Forum Awards Results thread! This year, there were literally hundreds of votes cast for awards that aren't related to the one I ran. However, your votes were every bit as important. It genuinely went down to the very last vote in some categories, so every voter made a difference. You should feel good about yourself if you voted .gif) If you didn't then you really need to take a good look at yourself and realise you probably made the right choice.I did try to get with the times, and do a results video, which you can watch here: Forum Awards 2017 Results Video However, I do realise that most people prefer it in text form though, and might've come away unclear on some of the winners. So without further ado, your winners, as voted for by some of you lovely people! Golden Forum Awards 2017 Best Overall EG Forumite This one wasn't actually much of a surprise to me, as he's a long-standing forum member with a long standing Steak of Brilliance. It's Decks! Well done for being superior to everyone else. Second place goes to pk1980 and third to neilka. I have to say it was actually quite close though. Literally a single vote between the first 2, so if pk1980 works really hard, who knows that the 2018 awards will bring? Funniest Forumite It's Decks again! Looks like he's going for the clean sweep, everyone. Best at being best and best at being hilarious. What a legend. Of Eurogamer. Check out that subtle hint right there about another award. Second goes to challenge_hannukah, with no-one else getting enough votes to be notable so there isn't really a third. Decks took 60% of the vote with ease. Friendliest Forumite C-C-C-Combo Breaker! Sorry Decks, this one isn't for you. It's me. DFawkes wins, but only with 50% of the vote so I must be failing you all, for which I apologise. 2nd goes to Ror because he's lovely and I'd argue friendlier, with Alastair managing a glorious and still notable 3rd. Most Generous Rogueywon! What can I say, he gives out free stuff in threads all the times, and we all love a nice Roguey giveaway extravaganza. Joint second goes to pk1980 for reasons I'm sure others can enlighten you on, and EG_Super_Gift_Bot for his efforts in the EG Mystery Gift Advent Calendar 2017 thread. Thread of the Year - You may have already guessed, but it's obvious that the best and funniest forumite did something truly special this year, in the forum of the Legends of Eurogamer thread. It's turly magical and a sight to behold. Second goes to Enjoying something when someone involved in making it turns out to be a sex pest, which poses an intriguing question as well as GoodForm basically coming out as a sex pest himself. Third place goes to the Cancer thread, for being one of the few places on the forum where everyone is lovely and supportive to people that really need some help from fellow EGers, in situations they might not be able to discuss with family and friends. Best Eurogamer Moderator Look, we all know who won this. It's always the same person, because he's pretty much the only actively posting Mod. It's... UncleLou? It's UncleLou! Not by a slim margin either, UncleLou won with over 55% of the votes. It wasn't even all that close, with reigning Mod MrTom in second place with 25% of the votes. Third goes to Craigy, who definitely did not threaten to delete my account if he didn't get at least 3rd. Cardboard Awards 2018 I'm going to do these with very little comment, as I'm sure people will have their reasons for voting the way they did. It's not for me to say why, but they'd probably know why themselves. The Unofficial Stephen's (Silliest) Sausage Roll Award SpaceMonkey77 take the win, with joint 2nd place going to DrStrangelove and GoodForm. The Trump Presidential for Excessive Hot Air Award SpaceMonkey77 also gets first here. Second goes to cheese101 and third to GoodForm. Wrongest Wronger It's cheese101! Joint second goes to GoodForm and SpaceMonkey77. Dishonourable Mentions Although the above categories were all the ones open for voting, there were a couple of votes made for other things, and as the only votes for them, they win for these non-categories by default. Worst Thing - Every comments section on EG Worst New Forumite Who Needs Banned From Making Terrible Threads in 2018 - Geano So that's it for another year. I shall contact the powers that be to badge and de-badge people as necessary.
