Cheers, seems a bit steeper than I expected.

How does it play with the undocked, control-wise? Because I'm not sure I could manage a Meat Boy-type challenge with the d-pad on the joy-cons.

If you go switch its 14 from Norway. Worth every penny imo.

@Kay I've done the whole thing, half docked half undocked. I used the analogue, if that helps. I definitely had the odd issue with wrong diagonal inputs but not cripplingly so.

It's a lengthy game, 8 hours to beat it for me plus at least that much again probably for the bonus.

I have it on Switch and it is great.

I really like these 16-bit style games in hand held. I could have gone PS4, but very happy with the Switch version.

Is it 4k (or 4k-ish) on PS4 Pro?

This game looks good. But I'm a bit intimidated by the prospect of its difficulty. I enjoyed Super Meat Boy back in the day but now I'm old and slow. Is it that hard?

It's hard but not insane, often I'll put it down after getting frustrated then do it almost straight away after picking it back up. It also has lots of nice assist options that it doesn't punish you for using (if you're a big girl :)).

I am on the 4th level of Celeste and so far the difficulty has not spiked too much.

It has been hard, but not ruthless. I think he intention is to keep challenging the player by adding new gameplay mechanics, rather than ramping up the difficulty.

All the main chapters and b-sides down, with the exception of chapter 8's b-side.

About 4700 deaths - holding the console in your hands is a good reason not to have a tantrum be throw things!

Chapter 7 b-side spoiler that wall jump mechanic could have been explained better - had to YouTube it. Still a bugger to pull off even when you know how.

    Lovely lovely game.

Put about three hours into this today, it is rather good. Pretty intense at times, too... been a long time since my reflexes have been tested like this.

I've had a couple of crashes on this - first happened yesterday, and I lost a fair bit of progress (and strawberries) in the mirror temple area. Started replaying the area today, and it crashed again. Pretty annoying.

Apparently the devs are aware and are working on a patch, so I think I'll just wait for that now.

Really want this and Golf Story (still). Haven't got internet for another 3 weeks so will have to wait. Liked Super Meat Boy but didn't get on with the aesthetic. There seems a charm to this though.

I can imagine this being less frustrating that Super Meat Boy. I hit a few brick walls with that game and only ever managed to complete the light world. I thought my controller wasn't worth the sacrifice in order to complete the dark world! :p

I've heard it said (on the fave this podcast) that despite the gameplay similarities the tonal difference between this and super meat boy mean that you feel like it's encouraging you to overcome the challenge whereas meat boy taunted you for your failures.

For the record, I fucking loved SMB back in the day, not sure I'd play it again now though!

Reached the summit yesterday, with 132 strawberries. Might go back and try to find them all, before giving the b-sides and other challenges a try.

Excellent game and better than Super Meat Boy, imo.

I'm less than half way through this (significantly less I guess, given the B sides) but I'm enjoying it a lot. The blue crystal heart on the Golden Ridge level was a nice touch.

Spent this evening trying to get the golden winged strawberry for completing Forsaken City without dashing. Managed it eventually, but it was a deeply, deeply frustrating experience. I definitely won't be going for the other golden strawberries.

This is still awesome. I collected my 175th strawberry today. \o/

Still not really done any of the B-Sides.

I have about half a dozen strawberries and ten MEEEEEELION deaths. Think I'm on the last area now - at 2000M on the Summit - but struggling to get motivated to finish it. Haven't resorted to any of the assists yet.

I'd love to have the focus and the skills to go back and rinse it. Maybe I will one day, but if I can just finish it I'd be happy enough. :)

@Phattso I struggled with celeste until I completed the story. Once that was done I felt free to play it somehow. Really opens up and the strawberries are all amazingly placed.

@jonsaan what's odd is that at the start I sought out all of the strawberries that I could find and relished beating the little puzzles to reach them and get back.

As the challenge ramped up, though, I've very much noped the hell out of every such location I find. Hopefully you're right though, as I like the idea that I'll keep coming back to it. :)
