    Congrats MBK and caddy.

    Re man caves, I'm hoping to convert the garage into my 'office' at some point over the next couple of years :)

    Good luck all new and not so new parents. In many ways this is the worst decision you have ever made.

    My three are almost 9, 7 and 5 now and play and argue in equal amounts. Now the youngest is old enough to play minecraft they actually get along 51% of the time. Small steps.

    Godspeed.

    When we moved into our place four or five years ago, i commandeered the garage for a home gym. Didn't do much, just gorillataped over the gaps between the garage door and the wall, and then covered the whole thing with some insulation. Then put in some rubber flooring and a power rack and bench.

    Since then its grown arms and legs, now it has my gaming setup in there at the other end, with shelves for my lego and so on.

    Really wish i'd done a proper conversion at the time, feels like so much effort now to dismantle everything, move it somewhere else (no idea where i'd move it to either) and get someone in to sort out the walls etc.

    its all breezeblock too.

    I’ll be 33 years old by then so I’m a late bloomer I guess 😛

    I’ll be losing my gaming room in the process, my fortress of solitude. Very fitting I guess!
    I was about that when i had my first... you'll be fine! And you won't have time for the gaming room anyway, stuff like the Switch or a 3DS will be your best bet IMO.

    I'm just trying to get back into PC gaming now that my youngest is sleeping at night, but its mainly laptop based - quite hard to go into the gaming room and neglect the mrs as it used to be!

    @THFourteen

    The first task for us will be to clear the bloody thing out. It's full up at the moment with all sorts of junk.

    We need to do a proper conversion as we also want to put in a downstairs toilet. The only downside will be the loss of storage. I'll have to get the loft properly boarded out I suppose.

    Oh and congrats MBK :)

    Does it have to be my own baby before I can contribute to the thread?

    congrats!

    also - baby techno, our first, is now almost 2 days old! 3 weeks early, and almost born at home, had it not unexpectedly been breech which slowed things down and which when we got to the hospital meant we opted for an emergency C-section rather than risk going ahead.

    we didnt know the sex, but it managed to announce its manliness by presenting its scrotum first! i am still fairly impressed by its relative size.

    1 day in and 10 games in 12 months seems an easy goal now...

    Well, baby was due for early October but at 38 + 2 they have decided it’s time!

    The wife’s waters broke last night whilst watching Back to the Future

    She’s not having contractions yet and if she doesn’t go into labour by 8 tonight, she will be induced.
    Any tips on being an excellent birth partner?
    This is my first!

    1) stay up the head end
    2) do whatever she says.

    @MadCaddy13

    Have lots of Lucozade Sport on hand
    Try and engage with the midwives and doctors on her behalf, if you can
    It can be a bit of a war, so try and stick together

    Don't let her hold your hand. Only offer two fingers

    Good luck! I say offer 3 fingers, index middle and ring, but not lined up positioned so the tips of your middle finger is on top of the other two. That way when they are squeezed the knuckle parts aren't being pushed together.

    Oh and don't make jokes at her expense...
