Yeah, that's really cool and makes me interested again. It's also quite a canny move to get Your Dad's Batman back to engage that demographic.

I'd love to see Dark Knight Returns with Keaton as grizzled old fascist Batman. The DC Animated version was okay (as good as it could've been really) EXCEPT Peter Weller was lousy as Bats.

If they wanted to do a Batman Beyond this would be better, but Keaton isnít really old enough and the Burton series isnít really what Iíd want that to build from.

Flashpoint though, as the first Flash film? That seems like a daft idea without any history or build up. Wasnít Ezra Miller let go?

At this point does it really matter, for the general audience, if there's any history or build up?

If they've realised that Standalones Are Good after Joker and that their universe is shafted, Gotham By Gaslight would be fucking amazing.

I'd buy that for several dollars also, even if I can't stand Mark IM SO EDGY Millar. If only they had the gumption.

No. Nothing came from that video.

Funnily enough...., speaking of deep impacts to armageddons, I read Supreme Power again last week.

Its Superman but the CIA found him by J. Michael 'Babylon 5' Straczynski and I think it came out the same year.

It ends up in a slightly more traditional place but gets there in a really interesting way. Obviously it got completely overshadowed by Red Son but it's still worth checking out. Some good stuff came out of Marvel Max and it would make a great movie but there's no way you could force it into the MCU.

    For Flashpoint, yeah.

Supreme Power would make a better tv series than a movie, imo. Like The Boys, but serious.

Like I said, for a general audience and not the uber nerds it doesn't really matter.

Yeah it can work. The animated film nailed it and that started a 15+ movie franchise.

Would also be down for a Gotham by gaslight and Red Son live action.

I think if you cut all the Dr Spectrum, Black Batman and all that out, you'd have a pretty lean story. End it on a cliffhanger when the army guy blows himself up.

Red Son only got an animated adaptation recently, Iíd be surprised if they revisited it anytime soon.

They could simply do the other films as part of the DC Black universe. While some stories like Red Son have recently been given an animated film they would have only reached a small audience.

The Batman who laughs could be great as well

    :-)

Cyborg Actor Ray Fisher 'Forcefully' Retracts Praise He Previously Gave to 'Justice League' Director Joss Whedon

Add to that director of Birds of Prey, Cathy Yan being recently being upset that there are plans for a Snyder Cut and talk of an Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad. Birds of Prey was initially even more of a fucking mess and they did a rewrite, reshoots and bought in Chad Stahelski to oversee the fight scenes in the film. The #releasetheyancut didn't gain any traction.

With the lack of ComiCon or E3, DC have also announced DC Fandome.

"The 24-hour virtual event will run on August 22 and will feature an immersive fan experience that will have appearances from DC Entertainment stars, filmmakers and creators for DC Universe movies, TV shows, and comics".

    24 hours? Jesus!

Edit: Name corrected from post below.

You know how easy it is to confuse Yen and Yan. Itís like how Denzel is the only famous black person you can think of.

Heís eaten shit about loads of stuff over the years. His wife pretty much metood him and there have been loads of stories about how sexist he is and how much of a bellend he acts on set.

Firefly has, somehow, earned him a lot of leeway.

Remember when he was King of the Avengers, and then a year or so later it was the Russoís and he was pretty much kicked out of Marvel? Always wondered what went down there.

Age of Ultron went down, I think. It sucked whale dick and, by all accounts, he hated making it.

well, it's more Buffy, Angel and Firefly and the first Avengers earned him a lot of leeway. not a big fan of Buffy or Angel but they were beloved by loads.

As far as DC films go I'm still not sure what people are hoping for from a Snyder cut, the guys a hack.

They're expecting a terrible film to be redeemed by a 4 hr cut of a film that doesn't exist, because a longer film will definitely make it less shit.

I am surprised at the news about Whedon. I have been to Comiccons where cast members, male and female, from Buffy, Angel and Firefly couldnít talk highly enough of him.

Tbf he did do a fuck of a lot for representation of women in media. Itís just that he appears to be quite a shitty person to go alongside it. Whether he was always like that or turned into it as he rose up the ziggurat is a question mark I guess.
