Registered 15 years agoI can see how to him it would have felt like victimisation, but at the same time Whedon was brought in to try and cut a film in half and you know the studio would want to keep as many Batman and Superman scenes as possible. -

Registered 1 year agoI’d be surprised if Fisher ever gets work with a big studio ever again. We’ve just been through this whole “Me Too” event with women calling out sex crime and harassment in the film industry and he’s dragged an - already humiliated by being unable to match up to Marvel - studio through the mud over having to say Booyah to please cartoon fans, as if that matches up. Of all the things he should have let go of and kept professionally quiet about. WB would have dumped Whedon just over Justice League’s poor performance and the quiet words they got from stars like Gadot and Momoa. There’s no advantage to Fisher at all in having this out in public like he has, only self-harm. -

WB definitely won't give him any big roles. Guys just going to appear in Snyder films going forward.

Registered 7 years agoI think the problem is the studios count on people keeping quiet for the sake of their career.
Whether his grievances are valid or not, no idea, but it’s refreshing to see a fairly unknown actor speaking up for what they think is right even if it could (but shouldn’t) damage his career. -

People complained about the tone of BvS and we've decided to lighten it up but that won't work with what's been shot so far with Cyborg.
Also kids love the Booyah from the cartoon so please say it.
Fisher holding back all this time claiming he wasn't allowed to speak while WB have constantly been saying go ahead hasn't helped him.
Whedon is likely done anyways. They quickly dropped him from Batgirl after JL released and before people started talking out about him. -

Registered 14 years agoYeah, whilst I'm sure Whedon and others where probably dick heads, a lot of it reads like a D list actor being a diva.
I am all for employees standing up for what is right, etc, etc. But actors should just do what they're paid for really. If a director what's to fuck up his own career, he can go right ahead. -

Registered 9 years agoThe annoying thing to me was that Fisher was being so coy, dropping vague hints about racism and other bad behaviour without ever actually coming out and saying exactly what happened.
Which is not to say that he's telling lies or whatever, or that what happened wasn't terrible. But why didn't he say all of this months ago? It gives the impression that he really just wanted to keep his name in the headlines. -

Registered 15 years agoFilmmaking is a hugely collaborative process. The idea that actors should just deliver their lines and get on with it is bullshit. Actors absolutely should have input in the characters they're portraying. Just like the cinematographer has input on how it's shot, and the lighting guys have input on how it looks and the wardrobe people have input on the aesthetics. -

Registered 7 years agoIt depends how much is about behaviour and how much is about input. It must have been difficult when you’ve worked closely with a director on a role for all that to get thrown away by a replacement director who is also (apparently) abusive and a massive dick.
Not sure what his drip feeding of issues on Twitter was, that probably wasn’t the bast way to handle it instead of just putting out a proper statement. -

Registered 17 years agoIt may not view well from the outside but he's been backed by other cast and crew. We'll never know fully.
Interesting rumblings going on atm with Dwayne Johnson and Black Adam, as apparently he's interested in being on screen in/against Snyder's DCEU - it's been his whole thing with "the balance of power in the DCEU is about to shift" tag line from the outset - and because Dwayne Johnson is a walking bank he's hard to say no to.
WB really have made a colossal mess of their DC universe. -
