Saw this in a totally empty screening on Sunday and... it's alright. Probably the best DC film to date as the third act of Wonder Woman is all kinds of dreadful and drags the rest of the film down with it. Momoa finally manages to put some of his undoubted real life charisma on screen though the character is still not brilliantly well written. Amber Heard is probably the best thing the film has going for it and really works in by far the more competent of our two main heroes. Forgettable villain and the plot is very much video game scavenger hunt territory with more location title cards than you can shake a travel guide at.

Basically you're looking at bottom rung Marvel levels here. Still decent, inoffensive but nothing groundbreaking with a couple of decent characters you'll probably want to see more of. That's still a big jump from what's gone before so hopefully DC are at last heading in the right direction!

Aquaman is now the highest earning DC film.

No surprise A2 is in the works

I watched justice league the other day. Not as bad as I expected, not great but a damn sight better than suicide squad.

Gal Gadot will always grab my attention and whatever else she wants to grab of mine.

    Leggy brunette.

Filming has just started on Birds of Prey. Leggy blonde Margot Robbie posted a pic on Instagram of her in costume and the internet didn't melt. Nothing can melt the internet.

How can you make something look so bad in just 19 seconds?

Highlight there is the Moderat track. The rest looks cheap AF, just why bother?

Makes sense really. Show the costumes off now rather than wait for all the leaks during filming

Cheap AF is a pretty interesting thing. Okay, it's the first day of filming but this film is going to be on a much lower budget than any previous DC film. Going for a R rating too which they wouldn't be prepared to do if they were spending $100 million +.

But yeah, just a warehouse shots with some curtains and a bit of lighting.

Well Margot in Harley getup plus anything with Mary Elizabeth in it is enough to get my attention.

Maybe her and mcgregor came as a package deal?

Shazam has potential to be a lot of fun.
I had no interest in what WB/DC were doing, between MoS and Justice League.

Shazam looks like a good laugh, and I have very low expectations of it.

Let's see what they do with it :)

Quite a lot of news came out early this morning.

The Batman will hit theaters on June 25, 2021
This is without Affleck which was no surprise. It will be a noir detective story with a rogues gallery. Maybe they'll do something along the lines of Hush.

James Gunn to direct The Suicide Squad which will be a reboot and is due out August 6, 2021

There's a Batman Beyond animated film in development.

Oh and there's the animated DC Super Pets (May 21, 2021)

What we've got (so far) is

    Shazam (April 5, 2019)
    Joker (October 4, 2019)
Birds of Prey (February 7, 2020)
    Wonder Woman 1984 (June 5, 2020)
DC Super Pets (May 21, 2021)
    The Batman (June 25, 2021)
The Suicide Squad (August 6, 2021)

No sign of Superman, Cyborg, Green Lantern and The Flash. There are a lot of others in early development (Supergirl, Batgirl, Booster Gold and Blue Beetle). Don't think we'll see. Superman film for a long time. Unless it's Christopher Nolan's new untitled film. Which it won't be. Right?

Of those I only really fancy seeing Shazam but it has the potential to be really shit. So far the only DC movies I have liked are Wonder Woman and Aquaman.

so hang on...Suicide Squad will be a reboot of a film made 5 years earlier?

does Hollywood not realise that audiences aren't daft and can just accept new actors/ sequels?

Love this trend of sticking ‘The’ on the start of a title.

Still going but not focused on copying Marvel now. Not every film will be connected or leading up to a JL movie

    Plus separate stuff like Joker.

Sounds like WB are finally letting the directors make the film rather than forcing dumb rules on them
