What a finish by Valverde yesterday! I'm quite happy he won. Hats off to the other 3 chaps that managed to survive that horrendous last climb as well but having a relative unknown Canadian in the rainbow jersey for the next 12 months would be somewhat anti-climatic compared to Sagan these last 3 years or a veteran like Valverde finally grabbing it after coming so close, so often.

I would assume that you are, you’d still have to adhere to the Wada code surely as you’re only banned from competing

Not thrilled about Valverde at all- dirty cheating fucker as World Champ, brilliant.
It was a great race though- if you missed it and are short on time the last 40k, and that absolutely brutal climb are well worth catching up on.

Ayup, Harrogate is the venue for the 2019 event.
