I'm yet to try this game myself - though I've certainly got my eye on it - but I'd like to add both Haemimont and Paradox are (in)famous for creating/publishing games that are rough on the edges and require several patches to iron out. Granted, both are also responsible for games that are arguably just shit but this strikes me as one that is in the former category. I'm still hopeful although it'll take a few months for sure, if not more, before I bite. However, I sincerely hope they don't jump into the 'endless stream of DLC/expansions' abyss again with this one, Paradox have become pretty horrible in that regard |

I found this video by Fozzy Bear really helpful getting started and made me realise some of the stupid things I had been doing wrong.
're dlc expansions
Yeah that does worry me. Especially after tropico. I couldn't believe the price they charged for the water dlc on T3 and it was bare bones shite. -

I've been able to reproduce your screenshots Your-Mother! What you show us, is a bug. It shouldn't happen and in practice, colonists really won't travel between domes for services or work.
I've created a set up between two long-distance domes.

This is the colonist, who works in the Northern dome with just a farm, and lives in the Southern dome with just a living quarters, when he goes to work:

(Note the little blue arrow to the North-West of the Dome. That's the colonist running to their job across more than two Mars sectors.)

However, it's a bug that happens if you manually force them by assigning orders in quick succession. As you can see in the second screenshot with the colonist exiting the dome: He will refuse to make use of shuttle services under these circumstances. The two domes are sectors away from each other and and the colonist will walk back and forth between them every day. When he finally arrives, his shift will be over and he'll work there the entire day. If the distance were longer than this, he'd die.
So yes, in theory it's possible, but it's buggy and nobody should rely on it.
In practice and within reason, people can't travel between domes to avail themselves of services and employment that's unavailable where they live. They certainly won't by themselves and without the player manually forcing them to do so, through glitches.

Wait a few weeks, at least in my opinion and if you agree with my previous post about the game's shortcomings.
I'll post here again in a month or so to let people know if they've made any improvements. -

It'll take until November for them to get back to normal, if at all. -

Registered 14 years agoThis is on the PS plus sale and after reading the eg review I bought it... Re started the game three times and I'm trying hard to be prepared. Have the bugs you guys mentioned been fixed? Really enjoying it so far, just built my second some but am in no rush to get humans there to ruin my beautiful area. -

Registered 11 years agoPretty much, yes! I forgot to post here about it, but I was around when the patches went live and tested them with set-ups that would usually resolve in bugs earlier. Looks like Haemimont managed to fix them.
No more death marches out into the desert, walking in circles between two domes or being confused about their being a job.
Also hear they've added connections between domes so people can walk between them.
Lost interest a while back and switched to playing Frostpunk, but I'll give the devs a few months to add content and I'll jump back in. -

I was really interested when this launched and then again with the sale price on PSN but JP Evolution is out next week. Can't justify both.
