I've been disconcerted by that image since the ashes, knew there was something familiar about Lehman in it but you've nailed it there askew, brilliant

No surprise he was the Head Coach.

Looks like the dust has settled! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/43584435

"Warner, 31, will not be considered for any team leadership positions in the future."

    Woohoo, finally the silver lining.

Got to admit I did feel some sympathy for Smith today, he's been treated as if he's murdered someone, yes he's messed up and turned a blind eye whilst Warner and Bancroft tried to cheat but some of the backlash has been OTT.

Yeah, it's hard not to feel a bit of sympathy for Smith and Bancroft. That press conference was pretty brutal.

Kohli joining Surrey, hopefully I’ll catch him at Scarborough

That's a magic signing for Surrey. And great for India, he'll be fully adjusted to the conditions. Haven't quite found a fixture at the Oval that I can make yet.

Off to Headingly tomorrow to catch the 2nd Test of England and Pakistan.

Any tips to someone going to watch a test for their first time? I've told the missus to bring a book, she's regretting getting these for my birthday now :-)

I live about 50 metres from the ground and it sounds dead quiet. Bring a book.

Edit - just heard some noise, the beers must be kicking in.

Test matches over the weekend should get bigger crowds than weekdays, provided the weather is good. Headingley has seen a massive drop in attendance recently, and with the construction of the football stand and Ramadan for the Pakistan fans, then I'd guess it won't be very well attended today.

Ah course, didn't consider those factors.

Better bring the Switch too, just in case.

Any idea how troublesome it is getting alcohol into the ground?

You can take unopened plastic bottles of water / soft drinks in to international matches, no booze. Haven't walked past yet today but they're usually keen on searching all bags.

Test cricket is the absolute nuts. I love it. Lots of ebb and flow, idle chit chat, some sun. It's awesome.

Always used to be able to take a few beers in (I think 2 per person was the max.) but even that's gone now. Great memories of rocking up to the Oval for a sunday 1-day game or T20 with a slab of beer.

The "NO GLASS SNAKES" signs are probably my favourite. They really hate glass snakes.

Sounding quite rowdy now and there was a good amount of people knocking about Headingley.

Aye, the reports are saying it's picked up a fair bit. Looking increasingly likely that the weather will be a problem tomorrow, though :-(

Headingley tests are always a good laugh. Just settle in, have a few pints and watch as it gets progressively rowdier as the day goes on, before pitched battles between the stewards and rampaging beer snakes take place in late afternoon.

    Cricket World Cup tickets purchased.

NZ v Sri Lanka in Cardiff for our opening game.

NZ v Saff Afreka at Edgbaston.

NZ v Aus at Lords... Can't decide whether to risk Viagogo or just get hammered in front of a pub big screen nearby. Live is great but I really want to see as much of this as possible.
