Anyone else partial to a pair of retro trainers? I've always loved a pair of New Balance 420s or Nike Air Pegasus or 80s adidas. Nike released a flynit 30th anniversary edition of the original Air Max last year, which look great and are so comfy. But the trainer I always wanted as a school kid and never got, and I guess is considered retro now, is the Air Max 90 Infrared. If you were a schoolkid in the 90s you probably know this trainer well. Anyone else want the 2013 flynit version?

It did make me laugh when The Daily Stormer declared NB to be the 'official shoes of white people' like it actually needed confirming.

Funnily enough I wore a pair of NB when I visited Germany and only found out afterwards that only Neo-Nazis wear NB in Germany. Something to do with the N for Nazi. And they've kind of hi-jacked NB brand there. Well except for clueless tourists

A mate of mine is a proper sneakerhead, his collection is insured for £80k, or it was last time I asked anyway. When he was in New York he walked into whatever shop it was wearing a pair of 87s which they had on display in a glass case. His shoe game is strong.

I used to have a pair of Adidas Java in dark blue and red suade. I loved those trainers.

Are New Balance popular in the Far East? I remember being in the Lake District and loads of the oriental tourists were wearing them - whole families usually, which I found very quirky

I've got probably 20 pairs of trainers but I've been wearing the same pair of white Adidas Superstar 80s for pretty much six months solid, which is almost a personal best.

    They just go with everything.

I just have a pair of black pumps that still fit me from primary school. Been wearing them for 34 years now.

Yeah I think they are. There's quite a large Chinese population at the university near me and half the women seem to wear New Balance in some pink/grey/white colour combo. New Balance do seem to have some odd image perceptions from area to area. North America is dad's that have moustaches and tuck their t-shirts in to their jeans, Germany is neo Nazis

I'm finding it really difficult to find trainers I like these days. They're all shit.

I signed up for for a few sites that send me about new releases.

Whilst I like some of the stuff that is coming out I have maybe six or seven pairs I haven't worn once so have to resist filling up my wardrobe with more. The clearance sales require a lot of restraint.

At last count I had 34 pairs of trainers and in summer I live in flip flops 90% of the time so it's a bit silly.

I also fucking love high tops and mids.

Unfortunately I'm a fat old man not a cool model or ghetto hipster. So I just wear them round the house like a weirdo.

@Load_2.0 I hear you. I've got about 20 pairs of trainers too, all retro, no modern crap ;) When I go out in the more colourful ones I do feel slightly self-conscious. But my formula is if you wear flash trainers wear plain clothes, and vice versa. It's the folk that wear showy trainers and showy clothes together that look like douchebags.
