"The free 3GB sampler allows you to play through the rooftop sequence which has appeared at various conventions and conferences over the past few years. Your task is to talk down an android who’s kidnapped a small girl and is dangling her precariously over the edge of a skyscraper."

Registered 9 years agoBloody hell this is stunning graphically . The scene they give you is definitely a step up from beyond, have played it twice and seen 2 of the 6 outcomes. If you like their stuff then this looks like a no brainer if the rest of the game is like this scene. -

Registered 16 years agoWell it looks good and that's just on a base PS4.
Took me about 20 minutes to complete that scene but I'll probably try out a different action later to see an alternative outcome.
I guess I'll be buying this at some point along with God Of War. -

Registered 9 years agoI got a good, but probably not the best ending first time. The next time i got a terrible one, looks like some serious potential to fuck things up. -

Registered 16 years agoLoved Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain but Beyond didn't appeal to me at all. I'm not sure what to expect from this one so a demo is perfect to get a proper idea. That's an hour I have to take away from God of War though. -

Registered 12 years agoAlso really liked Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain; I do own Beyond, but I've not actually got around to playing it. Will check out the demo for Detroit tonight.

Same as me, thought Beyond was disappointing but love the other two. Just finished the demo and impressions are hugely positive, that was great and has sealed a day one purchase.

I like how it has a flowchart too so you can work out how to get other outcomes etc, something the previous games lacked but used to great effect in some Vita games I have played. -

Also loved Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain, BTS was poor I thought although I did have a lot of empathy for Jodie especially when they were mean to her at the house/party.

Registered 18 years agoThese games never really appealed to me but I enjoyed this. Saved the girl but am I supposed to feel bad that I didn't save the android? I'm guessing you can do both considering how easy it was to 'just' complete the mission. -

Registered 9 years agoIm guessing you can do both, first time i got the same ending as you. I then tried a couple of other ways that didnt give happy endings at all. You can certainly kill your character in at least 2 different ways with the wrong approach. -

Registered 18 years agoDownloaded this so thought I'd give it a quick go.. what a pleasant surprise, nice contrast to the mayhem and grunt of God Of War. Visuals are quality and I'm a sucker for sci-fi so love the look and tech in this future world. This has gone from meh to a potential purchase for me.. I'm interested to see how it reviews. -

Registered 10 years agoYes this looks like about what I expected, looks like I'm still picking this up next month. Again, the digital deluxe is well priced at 52:99 on the store comes with a chunk of stuff inc the full remastered heavy rain and the usual art gibbons/soundtracks/themes/avatars etc great value imo. -

Registered 7 years agoPlayed the demo last night, thought it was really good and even with just getting thrown in there the situation still felt tense. I managed to save the girl as well as the injured cop but the android got sniped. I lied to him and felt a little bad about it.
Also like how they handle the sounds coming from the controller, they're a nice touch. Will definitely pick it up at some point. -

Registered 18 years agoThere's a deal around if you pre order this you get the Blu Ray of Blade runner 2049 too.
If it was the 4K Blu Ray I'd be all over it! -
First play through of the demo I'm surprised how much I enjoyed it. I've loved stuff like Life is Strange and the TellTale Games in the past so this should be right up be street but I've not enjoyed Quantic in the past.
Gameplaywise the clue hunting was a bit laboured but the actually negotiation was pretty cool. The graphics are top notch if a little too sterile for my usual taste in futures.
I got the ending where the girl is saved by Connor throwing himself over the edge with with Daniel and her back onto the ledge. Sort of disappointed that the game throws its timeline at you straight away like that at the end but I suppose they're trying to sell us on how clever they are so it's understandable.
I'm definitely going to replay the demo a couple more times to get more outcomes but I'm not sold on a full game just yet. These types of titles have got to hang on their stories rather than gameplay and obviously they've not given much of that away yet.
