I can't wait to get stuck into myClub. As always when a new PES drops, the gameplay feels good but then things you're used to in a previous version has been tweaked and it takes time to adjust. After over a week of playing the demo, I feel I'm over this period of adjustment with it just clicking the last couple of nights. What initially felt a slower paced game but also with much less time on the ball, I'm now thinking ahead when I receive the ball in a way, I'm looking into space to dribble into and also using the radar a lot more (this is the equivalent of "looking up"). I think it's probably going to be a difficult game to play online for newcomers because of these tweaks, but I reckon the the rewards of beautiful play are worth it if you persist in practicing. |

Registered 16 years agoBeen rinsing the demo the last couple of days. Damn it’s a fine football game. And the PC version looks fantastic too.
Against my better judgement I’m on the verge of day 1 purchase here.
Anyone know what the myclub changes are?
Also I think I quite like the shorter matches. Might actually get through an ML season this time.

Ah thanks.... hmmm not the most wholesale of changes then! It’s really the transfer system I hate. I much prefer the FUT pack and auction house format.

Decent preview. -

I've not played a pes for years so it will all seem fresh to me. Looking forward to getting stuck into it. -

Registered 13 years agoI've been doing fifa one year pes another year to mix it up.
I just wish ML would get a big improvement.
some more generic stadiums. hate seeing someone like Brighton playing in some huge 60,000 seater dome.
some strategy wouldn't go amiss. like if you bought Messi then your existing forwards get a morale drop expecting not to play, or demand wage increases to match him or he doesn't fit Into your teams tactics so his rating drops.
and it could work the other way, find some cheap unknown but they slot perfectly Into your teams set up and you can create the next star.
similar to how ultimate team works where if you put the wrong player in the wrong team it can screw everything up.
last time I played ML it all felt very sterile. every team ended up with 90+ rated players. teams like man united would sell most of their top talent and keep Rashford and never bother to sign anyone better - happy to exist as a mid table side.
quite how they fail to see it needs improvements year on year is mind numbing.

Registered 16 years agoThe core gameplay is just so good tho. This morning I watched endless replays of two goals I ALMOST scored, a bicycle kick that hit the bar and a volleyed backheel that went wide.
No other football game does that for me. -
Yeah not too fussed on what it's not got. I'm a casual player anyway and the core gameplay is awesome. -

That’s not a great list of improvements at all. Crazy that Konami are so unwilling to put any decent effort into making ML half decent.

Allowing 4 divisions in ML and more leagues to edit would be a start. -

I think everyone just plays myclub now.
I like myclub because it has a reasonable offline mode but hate the player transfer system. -
Yeah I think I'll be drawn more to Myclub. In fifa tended to stick to their be a pro mode. Is there anything similar in pes where you just control one player? -

Registered 7 years agoIn 2018, I just did myClub. You mix it up in there too by doing myClub 3v3 co-op matches with randoms which, if you got teamed up with people who can play, was lots of fun. -

Registered 18 years agoDistinctly unimpressed with the lack of improvements to ML. The myclub offline mode doesn't come close to ML imo. Have avoided the demo for fear of caving - this is the first PES game I've not pre-ordered in years.... -

I'm the same as you, only really play ML, so the lack of improvements on that front is really disappointing.
It certainly seems to play well, but I'll definitely be waiting for it to drop below £25 which, to be fair, doesn't usually take too long. -

Registered 7 years agoIt's strange. I used to be all for ML back in the day, but since the online got sorted, I just want to try and stuff real human player beings. Not touched ML for years now. Anyone like this?
Playing AI makes me sleepy. This isn't just a PES thing either. I find when my skills are publicly at stake my concentration levels are at 100 percent. But play CPU, I may get distracted by a pot pouri pot beside the TV (I don't have pot pouri btw). -
I'm enjoying the demo now. A cracking game.
Have seen twice now, where the ball is headed clear to the edge of the box after a corner, a full back smash a rocket into the top corner - me hitting it first time with Joe Gomez, and another guy against me after taking a touch with Robertson. Satisfying.
I'm still not overly happy with the system to select defenders. It's frustrating when you have a split second to change to a player when the opposition make a run, and you hammer L1 to no avail. Frustrates me when defending set pieces too, from goal kicks to corners, can only seem to cycle between two players (usually the shortest two on the pitch). Am I missing something obvious? Still, not a huge issue in the grand scheme.
