Is there an option to lock it to 30 docked?

Nope, unless thereís another patch. The Japanese version was patched a few weeks back but that was just bug fixes. I guess maybe it runs on an earlier engine framework so they werenít able to add those modes? Iíd have liked a smoother 720p mode.

If youíve played another Musou game lately you know the score, but it only gets really bad in portable mode. Even then it still works better than the awful Warriors All-Stars on PS4 Pro, for example. Previous portable titles reduced the enemy count a fair bit for those versions so itís kind of crazy to see just how much stuff it flings at you on that small screen sometimes.

Edit: all this talk kind of makes me want to fire it up again, thereís a ridiculous amount of stuff to do in the game even after going through the main story and in spite of the seemingly small character count there are lots of unique move sets.

I've only played FEW and HW on 3DS to be honest. FEW was best played at 30 as it was blurry AF on 60fps mode. And the 3DS version was, well, the 3DS.

Given that this one's got all the DLC included, I'd be surprised if story mode is even 10% of the content of the full package.

Yeah, if you even slightly like Warriors type games it's great. Even coming from the unexpanded Wii U version there's loads more to do, though you do have to go through what you've already done to get to some of it.

This is going to be my first musou game. I love Zelda so it's a definite buy.

Anyone else buying this now due to the lack of DS next week?

I've got too much to do already. Halfway through Persona 5 and I broke down and bought God of War.

    And DS is coming out.

Fortunately I've still got residual musou satisfaction from caning FEW to death (worryingly I think it has the highest playtime on my Switch....).

I played the first level in undocked mode on the train. It handles well, looks great and the frame rate seems fine. Although to be fair I'm not particularly fussy about such things.

It's much more musou than it is Zelda. Like, I'm sure you will appreciate the fan service (there's a lot of it), but the gameplay is veeeeeery different.

Which is not to say that you'll hate it! But I'll be interested to hear how you get on with it.

Framerate really is rough docked, they should have locked it to 30.

@Mola_Ram played a couple of hours last night - first impressions are I really like it.

My copy has turned up, so I just did the first mission. Framerate can get a little iffy in handheld mode, but it's still perfectly playable. Forgot how fun it was. I think I'll actually get further than Skyloft this time.

Put in a few hours over the weekend and I'm enjoying it a lot. Performance is generally good except for one level that had a dragon, another boss and a few sub bosses and lots of grunts on screen at one time. It's definitely not a smooth 60fps.

I've had some exciting finishes to battles, rushing to beat commanders before my base falls.

There's so much more going on in each mission both in terms of gameplay and visuals. Plus the characters are much more varied to use. FEW kind of dropped the ball in a lot of aspects.

I did the Eldin Caves last night and found it a bit difficult to keep up with what's going on when there's about five different things all flashing on the map. Felt a bit hectic. Does the mission list highlight each objective on the map? I couldn't quite tell last night.

    @Ror

Yeah, if you pause the game you can check the mission list plus examine the map in more detail to see what's going on.There are different icons for different targets and objectives. I wasn't aware of that until the loading screen brought up some things.

I agree that it's much more exciting than FEW. It feels pedestrian in comparison to Hyrule.

I like how you can play the Ocarina on the loading screen. A nice touch.

@rice_sandwich Cheers, I thought it must do, but I was half asleep last night so could barely make sense of it :D I'll make sure to properly look at it later today.

I'm double dipping on this. Sold a couple of other games so I can stem the flow of games a bit.

I bought this, have really like it so far, as have the kids. The map could do with being a bit bigger. Is there a way to enlarge it briefly other than pause?

Not really. You can zoom it in to a stupidly zoomed in level that's not use at all by pressing - though.
