Registered 7 years agoyeah, I thought it was nice to have a trailer that actually does cover the fast pace of MP. “historically accurate” is like no mainstream FPS ever. -

Registered 7 years agoThat was a good trailer. Like they decided and realised that battlefield is a computer game and made it as gamey as possible. If that makes sense -

Registered 18 years agoSo there's a woman in a trench coat with a robotic arm and blue face paint. And a dude that looks like a cross between Kratos and a biker with a tank top and a neck tattoo.
Why?
Because EA needs to make a buck. People have said no to Premium Passes and Lootboxes, so monetisation through customisation is all they could think of.
So you'll be able to play as a black dude with a samurai top knot and a Dali moustache who does the dab and the moonwalk. Which is ok in Fortnite, but will probably look spectacularly out of place in a WW2 Battlefield game... and how many times did they say "immersive" in that reveal?
Kind of hoping it is actually some kind of alternate history thing like Wolfenstein, but I doubt it.
Ultimately gameplay is kind of course, but I can't remember the last time a reveal trailer killed all hype for me quite like this. -

Registered 9 years agoIt’s Battlefield with some incremental changes.
They may be good, they may be bad - the animations are hard to say until you “feel” the changes.
I like the sound of some of the Tides of War stuff and that there’s no premium pass to split the community.
I like Battlefield so looking forward to playing it. -

I have to say I'm the same now. Just need to decide if I'm going console or PC for this.

Registered 12 years agoI'm sure it'll be pretty great to be honest, but certainly gives me an excuse to pass on it at launch.
I really love BF1: I bought the Season Pass and I've sank over 100 hours into it in the seventeen months since launch, which is fairly unheard of for me and makes it one of only four games in the last five years that I've invested so much time into (the others being Dark Souls, Elite: Dangerous and WoW).
So for me personally, and only based off the cursory look we've had so far, it comes across as just too much of a conservative iteration on BF1 to elicit much enthusiasm at this stage.
I also didn't particularly like the tone of that trailer. I think BF1 did a fairly decent job of conveying appropriate solemnity within the obviously over-the-top bombastic context of a modern-gen FPS, or at least as well as can be expected (certain ill-judged social media posts from DICE being the exception). But the buddy-buddy interaction and dialogue there was fucking cringe-worthy, and should have been sense-checked with a functioning adult before going to press.

I honestly would have thought that was gameplay from BF1 if I didn't know. The talk of BC2 destruction is the only thing that's got me kind of interested.

Registered 5 years agoI love how colorful and bright it looks. At first I thought it was some guerrilla warfare setting a bit like home-front. Why does one of the guy's have a Katana on his back? I really like the look of it although I have found Battlefield 1 hit and miss. -

Registered 15 years agoWonder what the cash cow this time around is? There's no season pass and no loot boxes (both officially confirmed).
So that means either a £100 price tag or... energy bar! It's going to be an energy bar, isn't it? "Wait 3 hours for ammo to regenerate or buy 300 crystals now!". -

@Dgzter
Hmmmmm, I got my eye on you. It's alright I'm just getting a bit annoyed with the large amount of people on other sites complaining that there's a woman and black guy in the trailer which makes it not historically accurate, because obviously bf is a simulation and not a backdrop for you to do crazy shit.
