I like that they have added the ability to take ammo from nearby support players. This was one of the best things that BF: Hardline did.

I don't know if this is just limited to ammo replenishment or if grenades/explosives are included. Hopefully I'll get to play some more over the weekend.

    New map time again.

Played a few rounds on breakthrough and conquest earlier and really enjoyed myself; just all round chaos. Reminds me of Argonne Forest from BF1 but more open so you don't feel like your throwing yourself at an impassable choke point repeatedly. Plenty of opportunities for flanking and getting at the enemy. Looks really good as well.

No word of when it will tie up with Mercury for another grand operation.

When I played the beta for BFV I was so excited to play the main game but I dropped out of this so damn fast. Itís quite possibly my least played BF. They really need to bring back the old style gameplay with more vehicles being key to that.

Tried again tonight and was pretty bored after one map. How did Battlefield get boring?

So we have not one but two(ish) new maps! The large scale Al Sundan and metro remake Operation Underground.

I've only played Al Sundan briefly but the setting reminded of Fao Fortress from BF1. By contrast Operation Underground is pure meat grinder experience and normally I don't enjoy these types of matches but have been having fun. Breakthrough mode in particular as the allies trying to storm the city hall against a hail of MG bullets is just epic.

It probably has the best use of MG emplacements as well outside of Mercury.

Wow this is amazing. Dice audio is always the best in the industry. I tried breakthrough a few times on the new maps and while it's cool for the sheer carnage it's also a bit shit. Back to conquest.

Just picked this up - it is very good. Not quite bad company 2 good but best one I've played since then.

Experience very much depends on the team & squad you end up with but when it works there's nothing quite like it.

I haven't played it this week as I'm concentrating on Iron Banner (Destiny 2) however I've always enjoyed Breakthrough as a nice distraction from Conquest.

I truly miss Frontlines though. That was the stand out game mode for me in BFV and DICE removed it from rotation earlier in the year.

I wonder if the new maps will appear in the Conquest Grind special rotation whenever that comes back around.

What was the difference between front lines and breakthrough again? I do like breakthrough, just not on the new maps. Waaaaaaaaay to exposed.

You really have to hand it to Dice. The Pacific maps have gone down well with the community and then they go and fuck it all up by announcing changes to TTK and spotting which nobody wants.

Hopefully they see sense before releasing the next update.

What's the change to spotting? I preferred old spotting in say bf4. as I could help the team more.

One change I'd like is a major lmg nerf so you can't just run around with it like you're Rambo.

@Bichii They're adding auto spotting to help with visibility. Once you get within 15 metres of an enemy an icon will appear over them that only you can see.

Reminds me more of BF1 but feels bit of a cheap fix to the problem.

I would have preferred classic spotting. I know it was spammable but so what. With so much chaotic battle action it's really handy to get some clear visibility on where the enemy are, roughly.

Ahhh 15 is nothing though as you'd hopefully have seen them already. If it makes it have less dick head prone mmg players then it's a good fix.

You're never going to get rid of the meta of laying prone on your back which is one of the many things that turned me off the game.

You clearly haven't played island advance then :). Especially as attacker. I wish cq has less flags. Island advance is pure carnage and cq can too often be too quiet outside the central flag.

I prefer Iwo Jima of the two new maps as it flows better in conquest and breakthrough. Pacific Storm is a nightmare with all the foliage for people to hide in and the tank traps make it just a slog to make any sort of push. It's simply to easy to camp the centre and just pick people off.

Just had my first go on operation underground....pure AIDS.

Iwo Jima is divine though. Keep forgetting my bloody M1 rifle grenades! So handy when I actually remember them..

I quite like Operation Underground but the grind version really isn't the best. Whoever gets the middle can just camp it and from there it's an uphill struggle.

People also get (literal) tunnel vision and completely ignore the point at the enemy spawn but getting that far would also require actual teamwork.

It's AIDS. Full of twat prone mmg players.

Arras however is amazing. Had such a brilliant game earlier as assualt using the m1907? and was paired up with a decent assualt player in the fire team.

Games like bfv are gaming bliss when things go well. Just had two epic cq games. First was 37-19 as an aggressive sniper on fjell. Which for me, who doesn't often play recon, was pretty epic. Then 59-15 as a mental, m1907 wielding, dynamite throwing assault on Rotterdam. Think that might be my most kills in one round of cq. I'm one happy bunny. :).

I can only dream of a K/D like that!

Just had a great run of games across Narvik/Twisted Steel/Arras/Hamada and when everything works it really is just sublime. Really good to be playing the older maps again.
