@cambison You know you cna give them the money already right? -
I have this feeling that, regardless of how good this actually is, people aren't going to like it. Because people, a lot of people, really want more "Souls" games. The developers know this and they keep saying this isn't a Souls game... but I don't think people are listening. -

Registered 13 years agoI am hesitant because of this - that I might not love it - but it's still FROM and the combat looks luverly. -
@Gearskin I don't like the samurai thing. It's just full of clichés.
Much preferred the Gothic horror thing they had going on with BB or the medieval stuff of souls.
I'd have been up for a different setting but willing to give it a go. -

Registered 6 years agoNot really. Imagine at the end of the game watching the entire Liverpool team committing Seppuku for bringing dishonor to Jurgen-san and the peasant folk who come to watch them. -

Registered 9 years agoI'm pleased it's not another souls game, they are perfectly entitled to make the game they want rather than burning out on sequels. Really looking forward to seeing what they have for us, hopefully the pc version isn't shit. -
Personally, it looks right up my street. Moreso than any of the "Souls" games. But I do think a lot of people just don't want this sort of thing out of FROM Software.
But I'm not at all suggesting they're on the wrong track making the games they want to. -
You'd think Salah had been attacked with shurikens the way he goes down in the box.
Milner would look good in a samurai helmet I imagine. -

I was in the same frame of mind about Nioh until I bought it during the Christmas psn sale back in 2017. It appears quite often in the psn sales throughout the year these days and is well worth a punt. I'd imagine UK physical prices must be very cheap by now too.
Never quite got around to Nioh, was always 'maybe when it's cheap' wish list
Looking forward to this though, looks like they've mixed up the formula quite a bit
I actually regretted not getting Nioh at launch when I finally played it, as it's a quality game with superb combat, music and boss designs. It's a meaty game as well, so you get your money's worth! -
I've abandoned Nioh twice, I hope this game is nothing like it to be honest. -

Registered 8 years agoIt is probably the only game with my limited funds this year that i will pick up day one (Aside from Nintendo games as they rarely go down in price).
From software can do no wrong. I'm looking forward to something a bit different, for how much i love souls i did feel burned out by 3, maybe not burnt out, but i felt a bit passive playing it. -

Registered 9 years agoI find TGC less reliable for early game delivery than simply and it costs a pound more from there. Both sites prices seem to be creeping up a little recently.
Will be getting on pc though as 60fps is significant on these games. -

About the pre order stuff I think it can fluctuate a lot. Tgc I've ordered three times with and always got the game two or three days early. Simply mostly good but the last two times it came on launch day. -
I chucked my money down at thegamecollection. I was umming and ahhing about digital but £60 is a stupid price for a single player game when physical is £45. -
This is kinda sneaking up isn't it. A month away, from a dev that's knocking out hits one after the next. Looks extremely good. But the hype is kinda non-existent.
It's the only game I'm really looking forward to. -
It's looking very similar to Nioh which was a cracking game but was hoping for something a bit different. -

Registered 6 years agoYou think? The combat and movement looks completely different to Nioh imo. Looks more like Bloodbourne to me. -
From the small amount i have seen, i don't really see Nioh at all. I kinda don't see bloodborne either but then that may be because i keep thinking of the grappling hook). -

Registered 15 years agoIf by "looks like Nioh" you mean it's set in Japan, then sure.
Aside from that, not seeing much similarities at all.
For one, this looks good -
Yeah, I mean this makes some pretty big departures from the Soulsborne games in opposite ways to Nioh. Not having much of a loot system or character stat building for a start.
It's more of a pure action game.
