Oooh boy. A lot of comments in here about Soulsborne difficulty.

Here's the simple 101. If you want a game where you just have to push buttons to do something flashy, play something else. These games don't hide the mechanics, and it's on your to learn them, understand them, and capitalise on them.

The reason why the diehard Soulsborne players are jumping for joy is because this looks to be the same sort of style that FromSoft are going for. Complex, with many things to keep in mind, and learning how to play around the game.

Some people would be better served just playing Dynasty Warriors or something if you just want a game where you can mindlessly execute cool stuff. You need to play with patience and be willing to learn from mistakes in Soulsborne style titles. It's no different than say a fighting game in that element.

Well no. But actually yes. It's a game series that rewards patience and learning. If you're not spending time to do that, and are running in just mindlessly pushing buttons, are you actually playing the game as intended? Are you going to have a good time? Probably not, no.

So yes, get good by changing behaviours to meet the challenge you're presented with. Then the difficulty barrier fades away and it's just another challenge to overcome.

But people don't wanna do that. They dont want to dodge or block, they just want to push buttons and feel like superman.

That's not the same thing at all as finding the Soulsborne games too difficult. What an absurd idea.

I've played tham all since I imported Demons' from Hong Kong before it was even available here, and I still find them too difficult for me, really.

I can bruteforce them with over-leveling, but since it seems that this isn't an option in Sekiro, I am probably out.

How far back in the thread were these comments? Drakesmoke said he'd like an easy mode a few pages back, and couple of other posters have said they've given up quite early, but I haven't seen anyone calling for Dynasty Warriors levels of simplicity.

It's a ridiculous binary stance. Either you want to learn how to play Souls games properly or you want games basically to play themselves. No middle ground.

Bit of a superiority complex in his post there.

    Git gud.

Also, souls games aren't that hard. First one you play is a bit of a bastard, but once you've got the formula it's pretty smooth.

If you played all 5 of them and you're still struggling then yeah you're shit.

No you're probably just shit. 5 games over 10 years and they're all really similar. If you've played them all and are cacking your pants because this one will be too hard, I just wouldn't buy it.

@monkman76 As I said, if you've played all 5 fucking games and are still crap, you're crap. It's relevant to the discussion. Sorry if you're offended by strong language, I thought most people have thick skin on here which is why I like the place. Obviously not.

And if you must know, I'll probably play about 2 games a year but I tend to binge them. I barely play anything all summer. I'm just a mad resi fan. So yeah, fuck off pal xxx

*pushes glasses up nose* you generally find iframes referenced more around certain moves, like dodges or parries.

Like, for example, if the dodge animation lasts for 30 frames and the first six make you invincible, you need to be rolling at the start of your dodge when the attack hits.

If you're rolling and it hits you on frame 15, you're taking damage.

Which is why rolling/dodging can sometimes feel random because the whole animation is rarely invincible, just certain parts of it, which are the iframes.

Then you have moves that have armour where you will take damage but the hit won't stagger you or knock you out of your animation.
