@robc84 my experience too. I've put it on hold for now as I couldn't face another boss grind session. Even if it's just before apparently the best area of the game (so I will go back to it at some point).

It's pretty great but my least favourite of the lot.

One thing that really annoys me (probably more than it should) is that it puts you in a standing position after a crouching stealth deathblow. Iím obviously trying to be stealthy so why would I want to be standing after?!

Itís stuff like this and the ridiculous difficulty that made me sell it. Thereís no fun in repeating the same boss 20 times. I like to keep progressing in games, mainly because life is busy and I get bored easily!

Most overhyped game of the year, for me.

Yeah I get where you are coming from. By the time I can get on iím normally really tired so not in the mood to be doing boss fights 20 times.

Itís obviously a good game, but perhaps just not for me. Going to persevere for now.

    Seven Spears down btw :)

Really struggling to find the motivation to go back to this at the moment. I think itís the extremely slow progress and constant roadblocks. It really doesnít seem to be a game that suits short play sessions. Feels like it needs a few proper sessions to make decent progress.

May have a go tonight, but feel I may be better going back to RDR2 as itís easier to play and enjoy (despite the clunky controls). My fear is that I will then lose what little sekiro skills I have learned and struggle when going back to it. First world problems at their worst, I know.
I haven't touched it in about a month. I fear I may never go back. :( (I'm at the first GA fight.)

Its a bit like a fighting game where you need to get the muscle memory down and the patterns of your opponent, so probably not one for infrequent blasts.

    Unlike your mum

So I beat seven spears, yay. Go to Sunken Valley, oh look, another mini boss (snake eyes)to halt my progress. It really is feeling like a grind at the moment and I know it doesnít get any easier....

Life's too short, stick something you enjoy on - at least you had a bloody good go at it.

I didn't really like the switch from big, epic bosses to loads of annoying little doods.

There's a huge amount of spectacle you get in the other souls games that's lacking in sekiro (extends to the story and environments too).

    @chrisno21

I hate giving up though. Iíve never let a From game beat me before.

Itís probably inevitable though. I think iíll take a break for a while but itís doubtful iíll come back to it. Which would be a shame.

Been stuck on owl in ashina. I can beat him as come close a few times but after probably 30 attempts it's getting dull. What worry me is I hear the end bosses will be harder.

Might be time to pack up and leave lol

I dunno, after beating Genny I found most of the mini bosses went down easily enough.

    @Trafford

You are probably right, as I did finally manage to beat seven spears. It just seems like boss after mini boss rinse repeat. And these are my least favourite part of the souls games anyway which is why I think I'm struggling to motivate myself to continue.

I must have tried 7 Spears 100 times, make of that what you will.😂
I'm comfortably getting on to the third stage of the final boss now after maybe a dozen attempts.
It does get easier, but like I said, I have loads of time on my hands at the moment.

Yeah, it defo gets easier. Genny and Butterfly are really tough fights, nothing has come close to them since for me.

Fundamentally, if you're not enjoying it then stop playing!

I got the last boss down after around 3 hours of attempts. I think it helped that I had a solid block of time where I was able to do nothing but work on killing him - no breaks, no distractions. Sekiro is so fussy about reactions and rhythm that I found even a short break could ruin my muscle memory for fights.

If you don't enjoy the combat then you're not going to enjoy the game. It's entirely tuned around mastering the combat system. I love the combat which enables me to appreciate the world-building, level design, and lore, which are all excellent.

No denying that it's got a lot of mini-bosses and bosses though, but I don't see that as a negative, especially as a large number of the mini-bosses are skippable.

The bosses were pretty dull I thought. They all look like extras from Big Trouble in Little China.

The best one was the big fucker at the end. Proper souls boss that. Loved it.

Give me Asylum Demon, Bell Gargoyles, Crystal Sage or an Ancient Dragon any day.

Yeah cheers I got that from the subtle hints the game gave out.

    I was talking about costume.

No I want a big fucking monster with two heads and a sword for an arm or something.

Which was the whole point of my post but you edited that bit out to indulge in some bedwetting.

You were complaining that the majority of the bosses look like Japanese samurai in a game about Japanese samurai in a derogatory fashion

I felt the rest of your post after that was moot.

I was elaborating on my earlier post that I think the bosses are better in the other games because they're more spectacular than just another dude in an old timey hat.

    Change your sheets.

Yes, the bosses are certainly different in those other games.
    There's a clue in there.

Anyway, you know how to delete your account. Seems a shame to re register and be a total tool when you come back.

Point taken user Trafford, self described "Occasional dickhead".

I'll be on my best from now on and won't compare this game to the other games that the same developer and director made. That would be like having a discussion on a gaming forum or something.
