    I got the last boss down after around 3 hours of attempts. I think it helped that I had a solid block of time where I was able to do nothing but work on killing him - no breaks, no distractions. Sekiro is so fussy about reactions and rhythm that I found even a short break could ruin my muscle memory for fights.
    swordsaint? What was your strategy for phase 3 and 4?

    Ended up doing quite a lot of keeping my distance and baiting him out. It's sort-of ironic that in a game designed to promote super-aggressive play, the "kite and bait" strategy is often so effective.

    @robc84 You should fight a long arm centipede twat in there somewhere then you keep going past him...

    @Rogueywon Yup. Most bosses succumb to the kite and bait. In fact. Most enemies do too. But I do think it's a viable strategy considering how fast they allow you to move and the lack of stamina.

    Yeah, but you need a certain item to proceed, that you get from talking to Kuro after the screen monkeys (I believe).

    @monkman76 I think it's so long as you have spoken to Isshin after killing Genny then go back to talk to Kuro? I may very well be wrong though. I can't remember what order I did that lot in.

    Yeah could be that too.

    Are you talking about the locked door past the centipede twat?

    I haven't actually gone out the window in Kuro's room yet, so perhaps I should do that first.

    I suppose I should check out the dungeon as well. Been avoiding that for a while now.

    @robc84 Yeah go out the window and go across the roof to speak to Isshin, even if that's not the trigger, it's worth doing!

    The dungeon is not as bad as you think it'll be, it's more of a transition area really than anything else.

    @wuntyphyve

    Thanks, will give that a go later.

    A transition area - not really sure what that means but I'll give it a go tonight :)

    @robc84 Ha ha, just that it's more of a place to pass through, as in, there's not much there!

    Isshin didnít give me anything useful, so dungeon was my only option.

    That dude down there is...erm... interesting. Iím guessing my best bet is pacifying agent and running like hell?

    @wuntyphyve

    So what you are saying is I should read what was actually written to me on the subject?

    Is that dude in the dungeon as tough as he looks? Also, is he a proper boss or a mini boss?

    I did think confetti actually. That means I can kill those homing ghost things right?

    @robc84 no of course not.

    Yes. Probably 😂

    Erm. Heís not really but you NEED the agent and confetti to be able to essentially stun lock him. He occasionally teleports. Just strange to avoid a beam attack, close the distance and keep twatting him. Sustained attack.

    @robc84 you nullify them essentially. Donít try to dodge them just keep hitting him.

    Got a nice solid block of hours and went through no less than three bosses in a row
    Corrupted Monk, had to really work on my playstyle here. I wound up attacking very deliberately and sidestepping a lot.
    Owl - I almost killed him first attempt then just failed for 30 solid attempts or so. Finally went back to a more movement based rather than parry-focused style, kept my distance in block stance and ran to the side when certain attacks came in.
    True monk - While at first I was intimidated by the three death-blows , the first phase can be ended quickly with the mortal blade (6 swings and he's out, parrying the overhead blow alloes you to do this) the second phase can be ended as soon as it begins by jumping to the trees and a deathblow. Third phase is trickier but also offers a few mortal blade openings - got to get out of there quick after though.

    Getting really into the flow of things now. Starting to worry about which of the endings I'll get, what if there's a Sekiro version of the Bloodborne umbilical cords? Feeling paranoid about it.

    On the last boss now. Guardian Ape 2 down without much problem, but gonna skip Demon of Hatred for now. Last boss is cool as fuck, but a tad tricky!

    DoH is really not that bad. His attacks are very easy to dodge when you've got it down.

    That plus using the whistle in his 3rd phase makes it pretty easy.

    You will have to die a lot to get his moveset down.

    Have to think of it more like a souls boss than a sekiro one.

    Think I've been stuck on this final boss Sword fucking Saint for more than a week now.
    I am getting frustrated as I want to move on and play something else, but I am enjoying the fight.
    The first two stages I can pretty much showboat. After that it gets a bit sketchy.

    Umbrella and the counter make those stages pretty easy. If you are running and baiting attacks anyway then this seems the easiest approach. If you are in his face like a true samurai then it's not for you!

    Thanks, yeah I am using the umbrella, even using the little dagger to get more shots with it.
    I just need to learn properly when it's a safe time to counter.

    Need to jump to about 7.30 to see the phases where you can easily bait and hit his last two bars

    @chrisno21

    Thanks, that's a good reminder that I need to use patience I guess.
    Keep finding myself going for the Mikiri counter to speed things up.

    Yeah, I can get to the 3rd phase pretty easily now, but the range of the spear is a killer, plus all the environmental effects make it quite stressful!

    It's a fun fight though.

    End boss down. Fucking brilliant. Got to the point where I had no spirit emblems but knew he was going down.

    Kinda cheese phase 2 to bait his punishable attacks, but meant I could get to the other phases with 10 heals, then just hammered it.

    At this point probably my favourite game of all time.
