Oh wow. I'm doing my 2nd playthrough and first time I went to hirata estate early and struggled for ages to eventually best lady butterfly, trying all sorts of shite with shurikens etc.

This time I went there after beating the horse boss and unlocking the deflection skill tree. Killed lady butterfly first go and only needed one health flask, felt like such a boss! Lady shinobi! :).

Beat the giant spear general on about fourth try as well because of my deflection upgrades.

Loving the branching out. Currently can play in the hidden forest, sunken valley and senpou temple. On my first run I missed the big hole to drop down in the samurai building so I didn't see all the options until later. Instead I fought the boss at the top of Ashina castle a million times when I had no upgrades.

I got a copy of this for my birthday back in November but I’ve not had chance to play it yet

Any tips for a new player anyone?

@retro74 learn how to deflect. Unlock the skill tree that upgrades your deflecting. It's all about posture breaking via deflecting enemy attacks. Stealth can help you clear out areas with several enemies before it all kicks off.

@Bichii Mad respect! I finally gave up with the final boss and Daemon of Hatred... I might do a new playthrough rather than start there if I want to go back to it. I think a lot of the earlier bosses will click a lot faster there.

@retro74 Sekiro is a game about aggressive parrying. Don't rush in to anything, poise is more important than life.

@Rivuzu was it you that beat me to 1st place? If so I still hate you for it. The last boss is a total and utter twat face.

Yeah I went back through it over the year and got the other 3 endings. Not touched it in months since though.

    Saving myself for Elden Ring.

I'm about to try the iron ending maybe if I can be bothered. I've killed corrupted monk and guardian ape in 15 hours, first whole run was 40 ish hours so I've got this far much faster .Now I'm not sure I'll continue as Jedi fallen order should arrive today. I definitely won't go for the full ending as I will never ever ever bother fighting the last boss again. :)

You can smash through Fallen Order in one sitting, and it's no where near the same challenge. I'm already planning on trading mine in. I will say though that the Shura ending (Iron code one) is almost as tough as ya'boi Isshin the Sword Saint.

But nothing was as hard as beating Owl for the second time.

    Absolute bastard.

I had to cheese owl, I wasn't good enough to straight up fight him. Just ran around the arena until he did the slam attack, hit him a few times and ran again. Guardian ape maybe my favourite because it's pure carnage and I wasn't sure if I thought him getting up again was amazing or the most annoying this ever after trying for ages to kill him.

The combat in fallen order annoyed the fuck out of me compared to Sekiro, as the enemies seem to regain poise after taking a hit. Makes it feel really disjointed.

It’s not a bad game but compared to the refinement of Sekiro it falls a bit short imo.

@Rivuzu if I remember correctly I beat him at the top of the castle and in the burning temple. Top of the castle I found harder.

I was thinking this yesterday as I was enjoying the sekiro battles between bosses. Probably ruined star wars by playing sekiro straight before..

@Bichii It's still worth playing, the lightsaber boss duels are a highlight and deflecting laser blasts doesn't get old. Also some of the set pieces are quality.

Play on JM difficulty atleast though, or it's not even a challenge.

Should I not play it on normal to get the true Jedi experience of being powerful? Would feel weird to keep dying to stormtroopers.

How do you rank sekiro with FROM's other games?

It's right up there for me, think I'd struggle going back to the old games combat although they had more variety in how you could win.

Fallen Order's worth a play, particularly if you can get it discounted. Set your expectations accordingly - it's basically an AA-tier game with a blend of Souls and Uncharted influences, which has its share of flaws and rough edges. But there's good stuff in there and the game generally gets better the further you get into it (the first few hours can be ropey, but the later sections - especially boss fights - are pretty awesome). It's done well commercially, so I'm hoping it gets a sequel which builds on its strengths.

Personally, I'd rate it as being better than Sekiro, but then I never liked Sekiro much (weakest of From's games as far as I'm concerned).

Referring to the Steak Scale, medium/well done.

I think Bloodborne was the only true well done difficulty. DS3 and DS1 are mediums. DS2 is so rare it's still in the fucking field chewing grass.

Difficulty wise hmm. Sekiro some of the bosses are rage inducing but that's pretty normal for FROM. I think the bits between bosses in sekiro are much easier than usual once you get the combat. I'm currently going through a late game area feeling god like in how I'm wrecking everything with barely a scratch. It's amazing :).

Re fallen order I'll probably love it as I do love me some star wars, so it's downfalls I will be able to forgive more.
