Ah. Robjenx or whatever his name was before that.

See. A numbering system would negate all this. Telling you.

Pshhh. Bloodborne is the best they've done then sekiro. Going back to dark souls now is painful.

Dark Souls pisses all over Sekiro. Hot, fragrant, incandescent urination.
  • Deleted user 6 February 2020 16:03:02
I've just platinumed DS3 on steam, and have just rolled a hex build in DS2. I can't stop playing the souls series.

Can't say I'm that arsed about playing Sekiro again.

I would love them to put BB on PC, but like Demon's, it won't happen, though that Horizon Zero Dawn thing may open the door.

Absolutely. The variation of builds is just so great in Dark Souls.

I really hope Elden Ring is a return to a more RPG style game.

Sekiro is great but it didn't scratch that itch for me.

I tried a new roll on dark souls the other day. The combat is so dated/pants coming from sekiro. Sekiro is like an exquisite ballet , a dance, a skillful fight between you and what ever you are fighting. Then going straight to dark souls it's like playing some old dated game were the gameplay is so slow and unresponsive. I LOVE all the dark souls games but now after b.b. and sekiro it's one of those leave it in the past things.

There's a guy working on a new graphics mod of DS2, looks lovely but he's a way off finishing it.

    https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/a-modder-is-absolutely-transforming-dark-souls-2-with-lighting-improvements/

    Shame I don't have a PC.

Dark souls 2 feels clunky but DS3 feels very fluid. I have no problem with the combat in Sekiro but it's very boring after a while hearing that annoying clanging noise and the repetition of blocking and parrying. It's very 1 dimensional.

Souls combat can be wildly different depending on build and weapon.

They're both mutually great IMO. Doesn't need to be one is better sort of thing.

@Bichii That's why I still love it. My shitty reflexes mean I can take my time and compose myself when fighting. Sekiro hurts my eyes/brain/fingers. It's also missing what I love most about souls which is the ability to experiment with countless builds and weapons. Bloodborne too to a degree, which is why I never went back after getting the plat, but I keep playing souls.

@wuntyate I'm definitely going to try that, I'll report back.

My PC is pretty beefy and you can't do much with ds2. To be honest it looks very poor compared to DS Remastered and DS3 these days.

    This patch looks great.

I get you. I also like the build stuff but I feel the gameplay has evolved and fine tuned. Maybe sekiro with a build system would work better. At least it would give everyone a chance to over level their strength or something. Sekiro is too brutal, a few of the bosses are just too much. The last boss has four health bars ffs and each bar has a different move set!! I am planning another DS3 run but my old favourite ds1 was just too jank now. I'm tempted by b.b. but I've probably done it five times already and I never want to do the dlc again! (Too hard).

@Akumer I think he's still quite a way off finishing it though, but if he DOES finish it, it promises to look pretty sweet.

@Bichii Yeah BBs DLC can fuck off. Bloody chalice dungeons were easier, including the defiled one.

Orphan of Kos was a piece of shit. I don't want to see that dude again.

The game also hurts my eyes because of 30fsp. Playing DS1 Remaster on PS4 then going back to BB makes it look really bad.

You get used to it eventually but it's such a shame.

    PC version would be incredible.

@Not_Ecosse - It has an equivalent of sorts. It's just a lot less flexible and more rigid than DS but that's the whole point.

It's a fantastic game, just a different spin on a fairly well tread formula.

That'll do, I bet I buy this before the sale ends.
    Backlog be damned.

It'll really piss you off like your first souls game, but I liked the challenge.

What is intriguing is the lack of DLC for this.

Lots of cliffs. Your trouble is that this time they don't lead to your immediate demise. Something which your inner lemming baulks at.

It seemed like a finished game to me, compared to BB which is kind of short and bad without the DLC weapons and gear.

Wouldn't have minded a big new area to explore though.
