| Just needs a Vauxhall Nova in the game and a super market car park modelled somewhere on the map for the authentic feel, speed bumps too, lots of them. |

Registered 9 years agoSpeaking of speed bumps, I think I hit the worst one in the country today. Wasn't even going that fast but it was brutal. -

Registered 16 years agoAs far as new settings go, the only really obvious choices still open for FH4 were either Britain or Japan. There are also motorsports traditions associated with parts of North Africa and South America, but those might have been more difficult commercial propositions.
I was part expecting them to go back to the US for FH4, given they haven't used the setting during the current console generation.

I missed that one as I jumped over to PS4. I'm kind of tempted to pick it up in the sale but I was really hoping they would release a 4k patch for it.

Registered 11 years agoAll the Forza games look stunning on the One X, regardless of 4K patch or not.
If I remember correctly, Digital Foundry were blown away by Horizon 1 on the One X.....no 4K support whatsoever. -

Registered 10 years agoThese are really well made games but I'm sensing diminishing returns with the series. 3 was a better designed game than 2 but it didn't have the same impact for me and I've not played it as much. Don't particularly feel ready for 4 tbh.
The seasons system and British setting might persuade me to get it though, particularly as I'm not sold on any other new racing games at the moment. -

I thought 2 was awful and 3 was a bit of a return to form but I get what you are saying. Neither of them really had the impact of the first.
Having said that, everything I've heard about this new one makes me think it could be my favourite. -

Horizon 1 is one of the 360 games with a 4K patch. It's Horizon 2 that's the only Horizon without such an update. -

Registered 16 years ago4's on PC anyway. 4k/60fps should be possible, though FH3 suggests it may need some meaty hardware (though 40k/60fps was trivial in FM7).
Insanely excited for this, but already wondering what the map looks like. Kinda hoping they have something like the car-bowling mode from FM7, replacing the pins with London cyclists (the bastards). -

Registered 16 years ago@minky-kong I'd be particularly happy if it would let me pin the beards of my kills to the side of my car, as a kind of livery-accessory. -

I think the map is mostly going to be The North. Lake District up to Scotland.

Registered 14 years agoLooks good. Day 1 for me; I've always fancied the idea of a decent open world game set in Britain. However I do have to admit that FH3 didn't hold my attention for that long and I'm not entirely sure why. I think I preferred the Hot Wheels expansion to the actual game... -

Registered 14 years agoThought it might be useful to list out the different editions and content:
Standard Edition, £49.99, includes:
Game
Formula Drift Car Pack - 7 cars
Deluxe Edition, £64.99, includes Standard Edition plus:
Car Pass - 42 cars, 2 cars per week from October 2nd.
Ultimate Edition, £79.99, includes Deluxe Edition plus:
4 days early access, start playing 28th September
Day One Car Pack - 10 cars
VIP - 3 Forza Edition cars, VIP Crown Flair, VIP Vanity Items, VIP Emote and Car Horn, Free Player House, 2x Credit race rewards, weekly bonus Super Wheelspins
Expansion 1 - new world location, vehicles and gameplay, December 2018
Expansion 2 - new world location, vehicles and gameplay, First Half 2019
Standard Edition is part of Game Pass but not sure if that includes the Drift Car Pack.
Have to say the Deluxe Edition feels a little thin this year. The extra £15 to move up to Ultimate gets you both the expansions plus VIP and another car pack which is decent value but maybe the Day One Car Pack should be in Deluxe as well? The way they're dealing with the Car Pass seems like an improvement though, more likely to try everything out if you're not getting a drop of half a dozen cars at one time.

I usually go with the Ultimate Edition for Forza games. I see no reason to change that policy this year. -

Registered 16 years agoWould love to see them include that Goodwood festival as DLC somehow, with the marketing saying Britain so much I guess they'll go for Wales/Southern England with something rally focused. -

Registered 16 years agoIf the main game's set ooop north, do we get a special event race that pits a sports car against a whippet?
That could actually be kinda cool, given the right circuit.

Goodwood would be pretty good as part of a much bigger DLC package.
I think it would cool if the included a lesser known actual race track as well, the Anglesey track that EVO use for lap timing for e.g. -
Thinking about FH4 and how it’d be great if the seasons transition over time, like a day/night cycle, rather than it being 4 different load states. Has there been any word on how this happens as of yet?
