I had a go on the Switch version and the performance wasn't great. The controller is also not accurate enough to make it fun on the harder tracks. Its like playing a shooting game with excessive auto aim to make up from imprecise controls, or an automatic car over a manual. It works fine on the easier tracks, but the extreme ones require more precision. And the whole point of trials games is to improve your times, a track isn't done with only a gold medal 😀 |

Registered 5 years ago@Frogofdoom To be fair, it's only the first level that has such a dramatic difference. All the others look fine. Obviously still a downgrade, but nothing close to that image on Nintendo Life. The frame rate obviously takes a big hit, but its been far from unplayable for me. -

Registered 5 years ago@Bedders For what it's worth, I unlocked and beat the extreme track on Switch, in portable mode, using the right analog stick, half asleep at 4am whilst struggling with a cold. \o/
This coming from someone who only managed to clear one extreme track on Fusion (I did fully complete Evolution, though).
I still can't beat that stadium challenge, though. That 2nd round is killing me! -

Registered 16 years agoHaving fun with the beta, but it's been enough to remind me that I don't need anymore trials games. I'm shit enough at the ones I've already got. -

Registered 14 years agoThe stadium finals, are made easier in the final game I think, the ones in the beta are pretty tough.
Rising feels like the evo 2 I would have liked when fusion came out, so will be enjoying this.

Registered 14 years agoReally been enjoying it, enough to get it's hooks in and shout expletives at the TV.
However, the leaderboards seem a bit weird. I don't like that it doesn't show the friends leaderboards directly after finishing a track and the friends leaderboards don't show your global rank which is annoying. -

Would be nice to get some old names competing on the tracks Gartt -

Registered 14 years agoMate, I was going against your ghost on the first track, by the time I gave up I was top 200 or something, didn't even realise! And you were still seconds ahead.
I'm probably going to pick it up on Xbox this time round, just didn't feel right for me on a dual shock.

Registered 5 years agoHad one more go at the Switch beta. Practiced using analog control, rather than the shoulder buttons. It took a little getting used to, but managed to beat the extreme track twice in this way. That 2nd checkpoint remains brutal, though. I'm not great with my bunny hops apparently, as it takes about 50 tries to hit that platform.
The game actually looks great in portable mode, though. Very happy with how it looks on the small screen. Would love to see a little more polish in docked mode with the retail version, if possible. -

Registered 16 years agoYeah, gotta say, feels like a bit of a failure for me on Switch, it needs those analog triggers, the stick is too much like patting your head and rubbing your belly. That and my muscle memory is tied to the triggers.
Still, that's the shortcoming of the Switch and not the game, which seems brilliant, roll on Tuesday! -

Fingers crossed this happens, don't think I can justify an xbone just for Trials. Maybe though...

Nice to see Gartt again, still getting nowhere near your times on HD even with 9 years of practice

Surely the answer has to be Pro pad right? No way you can have digital throttle control...

Edit: if i would have bothered to read 1 post up, I wouldn't have had to type on my phone whilst in the bath.

Registered 5 years agoThe extra tracks have not been released yet. When they do, you'll be linked directly to them from within the game. They should show up as free downloads.
I'm really enjoying this. My only grow is that my character's celebration on the results screen, which is accompanied by some awful noises. IIsn't turn it off as I can't unequip the celebration. My only solution is to unlock a new one from a loot crate...

It's a fiver cheaper. If you like Trials and want the extras it makes sense.

Registered 5 years agoThe training is much improved in this game. At least the after the first four. I'm alright with uphill landings. It's pretty essential for hard and extreme tracks, but the lesson offers plenty of room for practice. -

Did you know you can watch replays of people on the leaderboard? Go to the top ten and watch them, looks like most people are jumping two at a time to get A+
