    I like how they've changed it just enough for people who have blitzed RE2 in the past to feel familiar yet completely uncomfortable at the same time.

    I'm going to have to get this day 1. As a massive fan of the originals at the time they have really got it spot on as far as I'm concerned.

    Yet weirdly The Last of Us is my favourite game of all time :confused:
    Not weird at all. Nothing short of a masterpiece.

    @pacrifice

    Maybe you didn't get the vibe because you were just dropped into the police station without the traditional intro and start. It didn't blow me away either, but the zombies were nice and freaky, and it did creep me out a little which horror games haven't managed to do for ages. Wait for reviews and user reviews I guess.

    I like that the zombies feel like a threat in this. They've been standard cannon fodder for so long it was interesting to have them feel like a threat again.

    I'm sure they'll be reduced to an environmental hazard or annoyance like the Molded eventually did as you tool up but this demo I felt like they weren't something to tangle with. Plus there's a level of intellectual buy-in and suspension of disbelief and role-playing which is really helped by how atmospheric it all is too - playing with the imagined fear of someone encountering all this not just some brain in a jar with 25 years of gaming skills to no scope all the monsters like some disinterested terminator.

    @RighteousPickle yeah, that's fair.

    I guess with it being a choppy demo too, that doesn't help.

    We'll see, would love to be proven wrong and picking it up.

    A 30 minute demo, and you say it was boring and lacked charisma. Words fail me.

    It's like calling a film shit after arriving 30 secs before the end credits. Mark my words he'll be in the swap thread clamouring for a copy. He'll give you a great deal.

    Oh, and it for some reason allowed me to play again after I'd finished it. So much for 'one-shot'.

    I believe you can play again but only for the remaining time you have left.

    This is still going for 35Ä on Cdkeys. I wasn't really thinking to pick it up at launch, because I'll be very busy with work, but... admittedly, I won't have many other games to play until the next piece of DLC for Destiny 2 hits in two months.

    (I mean, not many other games aside from the million ones in my backlog, but nobody cares about those)

    I panicked, ran around in circles, used all my bullets up and got eaten. My classic resi play style.

    As someone who's played 0,1,2,3 and Code Veronica, i guess we've all been through that at some point.

    Just finished playing the demo and it was just as i expected. The controls are very responsive and level design is just as great as the original. Really enjoyed it even if i didn't get to see the end of the demo.
    It seems too much of a hassle to create a new account just for another 30 min run. Guess i'll just wait.

    OK I'm now thinking about this day 1... I have plenty to play and only overdraft to pay for this, but that demo igniting a thrill that is overbearing my desire for starting any of the games I have...

    With headphones and the bi-audial sound on it is freaky as! Love it!

    I'm fairly sure one of the zombies looked exactly like one from Dawn of the Dead but I didn't stick around long enough to check

    Was on blackout mode but a mate had this on Friday night so ended up watching it and installing it on Steam. It's bloody good, isn't it? Only a bit disappointed as my PC stuttered a bit at times running everything on max settings or thereabouts on a 1070, thought it could handle it without breaking sweat.

    Love how the bullets feel like they make a big impact. Shoot them in the head, they recoil quite a bit, hit them it the right spot in the knee, they'll go down. They've also managed to make zombies fucking terrifying again, it's properly tense when you're up against it. It feels like a fine line between action and horror but they've nailed the atmosphere.

    My game occasionally stuttered too, but I think it was due to loading new areas or something like that. It was smooth 60fps otherwise.

    For the record, DX12 mode seems to suffer a lot more from performance drops, so I'd just stick to DX11.

    @FredClintstone have to agree on the graphics. Also on X and wondered if Iíd fucked up the brightness or something at the set up! Looks really, really soft... obvs a minor thing overall, but itís a shame to be so underwhelmed.

    Just played the demo, as a massive fan of 0-3 including the remake of 1, but I'm not sure I can handle it. It's just too scary! Plus it's really grim, my stomach turned quite a few times.

    I'm torn, 2 is my favourite in the series, I played it to death, even managed to complete it without saving once to unlock the special weapon, but this is just some thing else.

    I'm going to have to play something light now just so I can sleep, I've just had constant adrenaline for pretty much the whole 30 minutes.

    Aye. The cops in the hallwayÖ Yeesh.

    Didnít find it as creepy as RE7, but think the over-the-shoulder perspective helps remove any uncertainty about whatís around you.

    It feels like it'll be a lot more of an action title. These early scenes felt like ones from much much later in 7. The perspective shift certainly made me feel safer and more in control even if the zombies were a threat best avoided.
