Heh I realised as I posted that you were obviously referring to Mario Bros. Mine is a Demon's Souls reference, which isn't any more realistic. As you were.

I do not know what that is, and I refuse to google it.

Registered 18 years ago@Mr_Sleep My sister got married in one of the major squares in Florence. In fact I think it was the one where the disembowlment happens in Hannibal. Although I may have been making that part up over the last ten years to make myself seem more interesting. Such a beautiful city and wonderful people living there. -

It was kind of deflating that a handful of them were complete guesses by Jane Jensen - both the voodoo museum and Napoleon House were nothing like the game.

The side by side photos comparing the BF5 level to real life show they have captured Rotterdam very well -
Swinging around New York in Spider-Man, it's hard to pick a place out besides the obvious landmarks. One skyscraper is about the same as another. -

Registered 13 years agoHaving been to New York a couple of weeks ago and playing Spider-man either side of that trip I have to say it is a pretty poor replication of the real thing. The big landmarks are in the right place, but the streets and traffic levels look nothing like it.
Central Park in the game is probably the biggest let down, it feels completely empty compared to how vibrant the real thing is, and the Met Museum looks completely wrong. -

Visiting a few places in Watch Dogs 2 that I visited in the real SF
NPC complaining at the overlook point near the bridge that everyone takes the same photo there (the same place I took a photo) -
I've bought Assassin's Creed games in the past exclusively because I liked the city, the Ezio games in particular for Italy and Syndicate too for London. Been to all of Florence, Rome and Venice so those AC games were a kick, for London I have no real frame of reference for the period. But walking past some of the landmarks carried an extra charge.
Unfortunately I have no real interest in the actual gameplay so I end up using them for virtual tourism and then dumping them once that gets boring. -

I never got tired of seeing places I know in The Getaway. Would never revisit it now for fear of tainting the wonderful time I had driving around a "realistic" version of London. -

Registered 3 years agoI've been to Chernobyl surrounding towns, this place was used in multiple games, the radiation is gone overall, but you can go with the scanner and pick up some spikes of radiation over the metallic objects or some random zones around the abandoned housing units. -
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is out this month, and next month I'm going to Athens. Wasn't actually planning on getting the game but might just do it now and see which landmarks I can spot next month. -

I don't really like driving games and have no Xbox.
But I'd really want to give that new Forza a crack.
