Dead Cells over Hollow Knight for me, all the way. DC is so much fun. HK can be frustrating sometimes.

HK doesn't get super super hard until a good few hours in, so depending on how much you intend to play on holiday you might be fine. It has a wonderful "explore a new world" vibe going on until one of the gating boss encounters which really will challenge your mettle.

DC is great, the performance issues didn't bother me at first but did when they cost me a couple of runs due to the teleporting glitch and some annoying slowdown. That said, it's a game built to be run and run and run and run until you beat it so losing two or three of the dozens of runs I've attempted isn't the end of the world (but at the time it was nearly the end of the Switch).

Fuck it. Get both. HK is a steal.

I might start Hollow Knight again, as I have no idea where I'm going.. this was after giving it a break for a few months.

I haven't build the admin for it (yet - it's next)

You have Fast RMX twice though (it was also Fast Racing Neo - one is Wii U title, pretty sure itís latter.)

Iíll have a look through what I said before later and add my ratings. Yokuís definitely getting a chuck up, it was glorious.
    Done and done

    @smemma

Yokuís Island Express is probably more of a holiday game than HK or DCs. It has the nice exploration elements of HK without the associated difficulty. It is also a cheery game whereas HK is a bit bleak at times.

(Note that I think HK is the better game overall but Yoku fits a holiday better).

I'm in holiday right now and can't stop playing Dead Cells. It's always satisfying, doesn't require any real thought - you just plough through - and you get that steady progression. So it's fun to pick up at any point. Great holiday game.

In terms of a holiday game - in that a game that makes you feel nice and relaxed - you can't go past Yoku's Island Express. It radiates joy.

I dunno. If someone were to be holidaying in the UK right about now, I think HK is a decent fit for atmosphere. :)

Dead Cells is too good for words and hard as nails too on the higher difficulties which I love.

Flame in the Flood is really good. On sale at the moment. Tough game but the stick with it and it clicks.

I got a game called Phantaruk and another called Hollow (each for about 2 quid).

Iím enjoying them but I wouldnít go so far as to recommend them. Theyíre both kinda like a very poor manís alien isolation. But they were cheap so thereís that.

Also picked up videokid which was fun for a little while!

Rogue Legacy is fucking sublime on Switch. For £5.50 (South Africa store) it should be on everyone's machine.

    Now we just need Spelunky.

    Yep. And Fez.

(I know that's not a roguelike, but still)

Fez and Spelunky would be great. Those two above all else. I wouldn't ask for a port ever again.

Fez. Top five all time that is. I also want a 4K fez on Pro or X but it'll never happen. The art will shine at 4K. PS4 version currently the best.

Not announced for Switch yet, but I'm pretty sure it will come at some point.

It is, but I don't think it'll better the original by much, if at all. I'm still going to nab it when it comes out, though!

Fez and Spelunky are definitely the most notable indie absentees on the eshop right now. I really like Spelunky but I f***ing adore Fez. One of my all time favourites.

List gone? Or just on hiatus? Linked page doesn't work...

    Edit:
Ahhh nevermind I see it wasn't you who made the web list and that user has quit/was deleted... Shame was good work...

It's a bit like someone dying when they quit like that.

I bought Cat Quest this morning for my daughter on her switch (it's on for 4.49) on the uk deals page.

Really charming from the look of it, she's been playing it nonstop for the last few hours. Seems worth it for the price.

Have you finished it? I would say the first half deserves to be on the list but the second half is so so.

There is a guy on youtube called beatemups, and he regularly does a best of list regarding Indies released over the last few months. He is bit shouty and enthusiastic, but I found it a good way to keep an eye on Indies titles.

The downside with being enthusiastic he makes everything sounds good.

First episode from near when the switch launched. I can see actually why I seeked out other videos of his actually rewatching this. He is a lot mellower here, just over the years he seemed to be youtubed-ablised)
