It's worth getting and supporting regardless in my opinion! Even if you don't have time to commit to learning how to make stuff, there's always a plethora of brilliant stuff to play and experience.

And weird sonic fan-games. They really need to stop making them.

My wife and son have been going through the tutorials on this but I haven't had a go myself yet.

Just got this, haven't tried to make anything yet but tried a few creations. Ruckus is great (the Rampage / kaiju style one).

Started making some music last night. Laid down a sweet funky baseline with some Vangelis style synths. Yeah I think this is gonna eat up a lot of my time. Tutorials are mostly great too, although a few seem to be broken and won't let me progress to the next step.

It's brilliant, I went out and bought move controllers and a camera so I can sculpt properly. It's a massive learning curve, but fun all the same. I keep running into the same huge lack of talent however.

Amazing, isn't it? Yeah I'm considering getting move controllers just for this.

Still loving the music creator. Made and shared another electronic track (Subnautical) last night. Took me just a couple of hours. Wish there was an easy way to export the audio.

Have also dabbled a bit in creating a level. Tried making a castle but quickly hit up against the limit on the number of objects. I started off by making a single brick with some detail on it, then replicated it into walls, towers, etc. Think that was the wrong strategy, would have been better to flesh out the basic shape first and add detail at the end. Need to do more tutorials too, still don't know how to change the weather or make a character.

Would be cool to follow some EGers and see what you guys are up to. Post your usernames folks. Mine is PlasticCrystal.

Attempting to make a 3D faux N64 version of my ZX Spectrum game Blimpgeddon.

Making a game based on Calvin and Hobbes. About 75% finished. Intended to make everything myself but decided it would take years, so have been using other dreamers assets to decorate a bit. Level is pretty much done, now I've gotta make the actual gameplay, which means I gotta get to grips with logic and animation...

And finished. Logic and playtesting took quite a while, but it was fun, like playing a puzzle game. Have learnt so much. Check it out here: Homicidal Psycho Jungle Cat

@pyper777 You nailed the N64 look. Did you release it yet?

@Nanocrystal Nope. I don't expect to release it until the summer, gotta make all the assets and learn logic.

I doubt I'll be creating anything due to lack of time and lack of talent 😂 purely bought to experience other people's creations. As I've not played it yet, is there any must play content when I first dive in?

@AddyB_ Play Art's Dream, obviously, but also Ruckus and Art Therapy are great. You should definitely give the tutorials a go and screw around in the creator for a bit though, if only to have more appreciation for the skill some creators are showing. Also, be aware that the controls take some getting used to.

    @Armoured_Bear Thanks!

Such a great community surrounding this game - Full of supportive people that are happy to engage with you to help you learn or to collaborate with on projects.

I honestly can't recommend this game highly enough if you have even the slightest interest in creating 3D scenes or full games.

    So good!!!!

Yeah people are really starting to make some incredible stuff. There are also advances in systems being made (e.g., FPS mechanics like bullet damage, enemy and NPC AI, etc) and the creators are designing them to be easily copy/pasted into anyone's creation, often with YT tutorials. I used other people's intelligent follower and lock-on camera systems in my Calvin & Hobbes game, and it was super easy to drop them in and tweak them to my liking.

The comments on the first page of this thread that Dreams will never produce anything comparable to a triple A game are looking increasingly naive. I mean, look at this:
