@Big-Swiss have a look at your equipment and get engraved all the armour and weapons that give you added damage to animals, also make sure you get your hunter damage (if you plan on using bows) up and also your warrior damage too for close up fighting. This fight does take time so just chip away and take out the little ones when they appear, hope this helps.

@Globalmeltdown The skill that lets you recover some of your health came in very handy when I did that fight. As did running in a circle and crying.

that does help a bit, thanks!
didn't think about the engraving. The rest should be fine, probably just Need some more Bonus damage, cause I did get his health bar far down.

I kept killing all the wee boars until I realised they kept coming back. So I killed 2 or 3 of them and left one, then concentrated on the main boar. The wee ones never spawned again, I guess because one was always alive.

The only way I was able to beat him was with the bow using devastating shot. If you run around a lot, you should be able to put enough distance between you to line up a charged headshot. If you have to get in close, try practising with a spear. Although it's a slower weapon than the sword, the longer range makes it slightly easier to dodge his attacks.

What skill level are you guys playing on ? I went for normal (middle one) with having to find your own "markers" for missions.

17 hours in and I've arrived at Athens!

Really enjoying the game but it's fair to say there is some amount of filler in there. I could have done without some of the, what appear to be, generated quests. Sometimes they dont even appear to work correctly, I've been sent into bandit camps that I've already cleared out.

That aside I noticed Jim Sterling having a good moan about the microtransactions and the grind. I completely disagree with his opinion. Sometimes I find the levels go by too quickly.

Anyway, it's a good game but at the end of the day it's quite a shallow rinse and repeat experience that looks stunning. I'm sure Red Dead 2 will be a much better game though.

Not sure you have to bother with any of the generated quests, just doing side quests and main story seems to get me through. You are ever so slightly ahead of me though.

No, but I pick up the generated quests sometimes without realising and they are pretty bad.

Are they the ones with the timers above their heads and the ones from statues?

Funnily enough I murdered a load of people the other day and when I talked to someone he gave me a reward for having completed his quest already :D

And I think I've had a generated one from the one with arrows over their head. Either that or it was just a shit quest. But I think those ones show some of the consequences of your actions so it can be nice to hear about the havoc you've wrecked, only you get a shit quest out of it.

Having just discovered Cyrene in Oranges, I'm totally up for some Greek action after this. That place is stunning.

Fucking hell Rob, I must say I'm jealous. I've been a bit short on time to play so far, so not nearly as far through as I would like.

I work full time but from home so no commute, I get 30 minutes before work, an hour at lunch, 90 minutes after work and a couple of hours before bed. So 5ish hours a day Monday to Friday plus whatever I can get in at the weekend.

Yeah I normally get a good few hours a day but it's just been a bit mental the last week.

What the fuck is with these posts bitching about having to grind and too much reliance on micro-transactions?

Were there two AC: Odyssey's released and I'm playing a different one or something? Or are gamers just moaning twats these days?

When characters are having conversations, does anyone else ignore the faces and just read the subtitles?

If I stare to long at the "acting" I get a wee bit cringe....

Sounds like a great system. To be fair if I didn't play Gears 90% (80 days played and counting, just on Gears4) of the time I would also be a lot further, it's all good though.

I was thinking the same thing. To me grinding is playing the same content / quest whatever over and over to level up. In this case though it's just playing through the game. I'm only early doors at level 11 I think but really can't see a need for any grinding so far and from what I've seen, I doubt any will be needed. So yeah, a vocal minority of moaning twats.

Of course, it does mean I only get between 5 and 6 hours of sleep per night, but that's what coffee is for.

I tried some badass unfair ship tactic stuff, but it didn't work out as planned.

So I saw, that my Mission to go place was on an Island and very Close to the coast. I took my decent upgraded ship and headed towards there. When I arrived, I brought myself in Position, highlighted all the enemies with Ikarus and then started arrow and spear spamming the base.

after a few tries I Went on land and walked into the base. Eveyone still had full health. Only the prisoners where freed already, and I had that Goal as makred off. So I must have hit the Cages.

I will try this one more time tonight, perhaps at a diffrent angle on a diffrent Location it could work. It would be so badass

I just tried to heroically save some woman being chased by a pack of wolves and (predictably) shot her in the head for massive damage instead. Then I noticed she wasn't alone and decided it would best for everybody if I let the wolves eat the witness.

    Oh Zeus, I'm a monster!

@Scimarad There's an entire cottage industry that has been built up around 'consumer rights' drum beating. This kind of thing is literally a meal ticket for certain channels/outlets. Playing to the worst elements of the gaming community and seizing on any opportunity to hitch their cart to whatever is popular.

Well, the later missions have gating that is 7 levels apart, stated in some reviews.
Maybe wait a bit until you claim it's all bullshit.
