I want to pre-order an album from Google Play. Does anyone know if I do this, if I can immediately download the two songs that are already out? I can't seem to find an up to date answer via Google.

    Google says yes:

"When an item is available for pre-order on Google Play, it displays a Pre-order button on its detail page. You won't be charged for pre-orders until the item is available in your app.

Open Google Play on your computer or the Google Play Store app Google Play.
Search for the item you'd like to pre-order.
    Select Pre-order.
    Complete your order.

We'll send you an email when your pre-order is placed and when the item is available in your app. You can see the pre-order status on the item detail page and on your My Account page."

EDIT: Sorry, that doesn't answer the part about downloading songs already released.

I've only pre-ordered an album with a released track once, and I couldn't download it when pre-ordering, but that was Random Access Memories in 2013 so it might no longer be the case. With that, Get Lucky was technically out, but in that case the single was counted as a separate release (as in a single track album purchased separately).

For yours, are the 2 released tracks listed under the album itself?

@DFawkes They are, but every track on the album says 'album only', although they are available to download separately as singles.

I know you can do this with iTunes. Donít know if that helps.

You can do it with Amazon too, so I've come to expect it. I normally would buy through Amazon, but it's cheaper on Google and I have credit.

I pre-ordered an album with Amazon last year. Never again.

A right pain in the bum.

The answer is no, you don't get the tracks that are already out when you preorder. Load of rubbish.
