@cowell because it was re-released. Other PS1 games never had a PEGI rating, because that system started in 2003. Only those games that were released digitally on the PSN have a PEGI rating.

Assuming they can choose more than just PS1 Classics on the store, that doesn't necessarily have to be on the list.

Besides, there are many other games with that rating. For example, Blood Omen or Resident Evil 1. But I'll be amazed if they actually include Blood Omen, with those load times.

Surely including just 20 games is a mistake ? Had it been 40,50 I would have bought.

Would like to see Silent Hill, Dino Crisis, Soul Reaver

Buying the cat in a bag it seems. Bit cheeky to offer preorders when the product details aren't even fully known yet.

@Malek86 Resident Evil was 15 (the old BBFC rating) on release.

I know it probably can't happen for IP reasons, but I'd be interested if they could do Wipeout

@FuzzyDucky Actually I think I mean both... mis-remembered 2097 being on PS2, but I must have had both on PS1

Iíll probably get one of these, but man, they could have picked four better games for the reveal.

I just need to hear it's got Parasite Eve on it and I'm sold (....which is never going to happen).

@ZuluHero yes, but the PS1 Classics release was re-rated PEGI 18. Same for RE2. For some reason, RE3 is PEGI 16 instead.

I guess the standards for PEGI are not the same as they were for... whatever rating system was in place before 2003.

But a PS4 collection of those PS1 titles would look better than either of those things...

Not interested really FF7 has been ported to PC and mobile. Ridge Racer was poor on release. Wild Arms is a derivative PS1 JRPG and Tekken 3 has aged terribly.

If I was putting together the games I would have put on it:

    1. Final Fantasy Tactics
    2. Suioken 2
    3. Alundra The Dream Walker
    4. Parasite Eve
    5. Silent Hill
    6. Medievil 1 & 2
    7. Vagrant Story
    8 Tombi
    9. Kula World
    10. Spyro The Dragon
    11. Loaded
    12. Tony Hawks Pro Skater
    13. Team Buddies
    14. Bushido Blade
    15. Dino Crisis
    16. Driver
    17. PaRappa The Rapper
    18. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
    19. Tomb Raider
    20. Ape Escape.

They'll probably have Wipeout but with an in-house soundtrack, like the Saturn version.

    Here's a wishlist:

Crash 1-3 plus Crash Team Racing
    Demolition Derby
    Resident Evil
    Metal Gear Solid
    Battle Arena Toshinden
    Tomb Raider
    Tony Hawks 3
    Mortal Kombat Trilogy
    ParRappa the Rapper
    Cool Boarders

I'd have money on the following (or one of their sequels) being there. I expect across the 20 games, there should be a bit of variation of the genres. Can't fill the machine with RPGs lol

    Destruction Derby
    Parappa the Rapper
    Everybodys Golf
    Cool Boarders

    Third party obvious shoe-ins are
Tony Hawks (subject heavily to music licensing....)
    Res Evil
    Metal Gear Solid
    Tomb Raider

    Wild card entry!
I'd love to see ISS Pro 98 on there! But you know, Konami.....

Pretty sure a few Konami games were on the mini Nintendo consoles so Konami stuff isn't outside the realms of possibility. Not ISS Pro 98 specifically, though ;)

I'll tell you what I'm worried about though, and I genuinely think it's a possibility:

I think people are perhaps being a bit too hopeful on their lists. Licencing will be pretty tough outside of the major Japanese publishers. I think we'll see...

    Metal Gear Solid
    Gran Tourismo
    Destruction Derby
Tomb Raider (1 or 2, but not both)
    Silent Hill
Wipeout ( 1 or 2097, but not both)
Crash Bandicoot (1, 2 or 3, but not all)
    Suikoden (1 or 2)
Twisted Metal (1 or 2, but not both)
    Driver (Not the 2nd one)
    Vib Ribbon
    Kula World
    Final Fantasy VII
    Tekken 3
    Jumping Flash
    Wild Arms
    Ridge Racer Type 4

Basically, if it's on the European PSN store, they'll be the easiest games to licence globally. Spyro and Castlevania could appear, but are also due re-releases this year, so might not make the cut.

Abe's Odyssey and Cool Boarders 2 could make the cut at the expense of Kula World and Vib Ribbon. Kurushi could happen, but I wouldn't expect any Resident Evil, Tony Hawks, etc...

I've put down a pre-order on this. Whilst I agree 3D games haven't aged great, I never owned a PS1 back in the day. I was a Saturn owner who, after it bit the dust, bought an N64 so interested in dabbling with it. No risk and can cancel later if the games announced don't appeal.

I do have concerns about what games they could possibly put on here though, between licensing issues and games that are widely available in better form.
    - Crash Bandicoot would have been good, but I have the trilogy for OneX
    - Tomb Raider seems obvious, but I have the GOG versions and completed the original on Saturn many moons ago.
    - Resident Evil has since been released on everything else, and better versions exist of the originak in the form of the remake.
    - Abe's Odyssey I got in remade form through PS+
    - Time Crisis, no gun

    Etc etc

I think the games announced so far seem reasonable picks for the most part. I'd like to see:
    - Silent Hill
    - WipeOut
    - Destruction Derby
    - Klonoa
    - Tony Hawk
    - Metal Gear Solid
    - PaRappa
    - Syphon Filter
    - Rollcage
    - Crash Team Racing

Any reveal that it's the 50hz version will mean immediate cancellation.

C&C Red Alert and a link up cable please.

Pre ordered one anyway, I have a PS1 here but would like a small one that works on hdmi and I can easily put it on without dragging the crt tv downstairs when friends are over.
