Any chance you could screengrab your t300 settings? Feels quite heavy by default.
Ended up turning off soft lock and did the hardware mode change to 360 and that made it a lot easier to chuck the car around.

Any t300 tips would be appreciated though. Same request @ Steve too. :)

I do 360 too with my Logitech wheel, with no soft lock. I much prefer it. I donít want to have to turn my wheel round and round and round at hairpins thanks.

Won't have the wheel out for a bit but I took these a while back. Think I've slightly tweaked it now and dropped suspension to 100 since the update.

I like a fairly heavy wheel so you might need to play with them a bit.

If it feels like the counter steer force is too strong drop self aligning torque a bit until you like it.

If it feels the weight is generally too heavy when turning drop wheel friction.

If the road noise and bumps and stuff are too strong drop suspension. Any of the other things don't have a huge impact.

And yeah I turned soft lock off and manually set it it 540 degrees. 360 is easier but it is an affront to Jesus to have it that low.

I have never adjusted anything, apart from make sure the firmware is up to date.

The only tip I can give you is to keep your steering wheels in the direction you want to go 😀

Had a really great run in NZ, except for one major contact with the dirt-looking roadside granite which instantly killed a tyre. Sigh.

Is it better to stop and change the tyre or carry on? I ended up doing both on that stage so I am not really sure.
Depends on how close you are to the next service. if there's no service after the stage, repair it right away as it won't be replaced between stages otherwise. If there is a service and you're relatively close to finish, I guess you'll have to decide if it's worth the 1 minute you save, especially considering you're likely to spin out and crash more.
This was the thing, by not repairing the tyre it ended up costing me more time as I was early in the race.

    @Mr_Sleep

Yeah, even if I think it might make me lose half a minute in the end, I change it anyway because I can't be arsed driving around for minutes with a flat tyre.

Well, I did the best I've ever done in Poland (following up probably my best run in Sweden). I was very lucky in the end, as I had a massive crash on the last stage but luckily didn't lose a tire so I managed to limp over the finish line.

I need a lie down now though...

The problem with doing this in the club events is that changing a tire costs a whole minute, rather than the 30 seconds it does in My Club events - after youíve upgraded your driver a bit.

Itís better that way of course, because at least it puts everyone on an even playing field without having to worry that your engineers or drivers arenít upgraded enough.

@Slint1000 Yes, it is true that it does add a minute but I reckon that still would have been better than what happened. It is well worth doing when the puncture is early in the race.

Why is that every time I want to play on Dirt Rally recently it requires some multi gigabyte download? 6.2GB today and it was 3.8GB the other day. Bah, I just wanted a quick blast on it this afternoon.

Oh I see, Well that is good news.

I think, at this point, I probably should have just bought the deluxe edition. I held off because I insta-bought Dirt 4 and did not really give it hardly any time and it was a waste of a purchase but I am clearly going to spend loads of time on this one and I am just buying the individual areas when they come up.

I know, I meant half a minute as an end result. As in, if liimping on costs me 30 seconds, replacing the tyre will effectively cost me 60-30=30 seconds in the end.

Well that Argentina terminal damage felt incredibly harsh. The car bottomed out on a verge and I couldn't get back up the hill and slid down as I couldn't reset or get up the hill and it was instant terminal damage.

As for Poland, I was just slow and crap so no excuses for the poor show there.

Well this is a fucking joy isn't it? Not that there was ever any doubt. t300 feels superb. Is the weather fully dynamic now or is it still preset depending on stage? Good timing with Wales! When does that arrive?

Will need to get a touch more practice in before I embarrass myself in the league.

Wales is tomorrow. And the weather is preset. And yeah the T300 feels fantastic with it. I've been fighting with myself not to buy the THA8 shifter but I'm losing. I've already spent £150 on a new rim for it in the last month.

@Decks Cheers. Yeah i'm also now tempted by the Shifter... What rim did you get?

One of these. Expensive but the extra size and sexy alcantara finish really make a difference in the feel.

Yeah I got the Alcantara edition. Very nice but still have a problem remembering the button designation. :)

£200 for shifter and wheelstand plate upgrade... hmmmm.

No way, jump straight in. You can practice all day but it no substitute of doing a stage with damage/penalties and no restarts 😀

@SteveBUK I think I may have given the wrong idea. I'm not a dirty stage practicer (spits).

I meant actually getting back into it after a long break.

We should meet up for some RallY X too if we can pin decks down. We are the only 3 on PS4 right?

Wonder if Chris knows about the sale?

Wow. It's as glorious as ever. Tried it in fantasy (dry) and realistic (wet) conditions and it's as glorious as ever. Sadly, wayside pebble is still made of concrete. But I'd already forgotten how challenging it is, it is pretty treacherous. You will die much quicker than in USA, NZ or Australia. Loving it.

Poland done, and as terrifying as ever.

Got a penalty on the first stage when my back end clipped the toenail of a spectator on a corner, and spun 360 degrees on the sixth. At least I ended up pointing the right way, so could have been worse.

Bloody good time on that first stage Yamo, the rest of us arenít anywhere near you there.
