Hah. I was finally getting to grips with the handling and I got terminal damage because I fell in the ditch with the logs and couldn't get out and broke the suspension.

Tbh I didn't feel like I was going to finish it. Too many flips and clipping of the environment. I should try something other than the arS200.

Those were a real swine. Hard tires with two spares (which I didnít need) made the handling even more leaden than usual.
I used medium tyres as in the previous survival event, I think hard tyres are a bad choice unless you'll be using them for 8 stages or more.

Edit: Doc had written something about rainy stages. Iím not just replying to myself.
Sorry about that, I was writing completely confusing you with Stirkovic.

But to reiterate the main point, those rain stages were in what I think is the evilest section of Wales (Fferm Wynt/Reverse). It's insanely fast but the slightest inaccuracy will result in a gruesome death. Rain doesn't help a lot.

I've started playing again now after the holidays, sending a request to join the club. Took a while to get used to driving in non-VR after playing DR1 extensively but I'm starting to get a hang of it.

Well, that didn't go to well. Started of well enough but got my second puncture (had only one spare) and heavy enginge damage on stage four, limping along on three wheels at mostly 30-50km/h to the service point and there for some reason I took the recommended repairs which did all but nothing, which meant 6 more stages at that speed. And to top it off racenet went down while I drove stage 12 so I don't think it registered my time...

Well, lessons learned I guess. I've driven mostly single stages and weekly challenges, never really had to bother with repairs and extra spare tires.

Fair play to you getting through it. That particular championship is probably the cruelest, harshest introduction you could have had - Group B cars in Wales.

Decks basically set it up knowing a fair number of people wouldnít survive, so Iíd take that as a win I were you!

New patch out by the way: https://forums.codemasters.com/topic/41487-vr-dirtfish-patch-notes-version-17-of-dirt-rally-20/

VR for Steam users, and the Dirtfish area to mess about in. Nice.

Also confirmation that it's not coming to PSVR if anyone's waiting for it.

Haven't played for some considerable time, but just had a quick blast round Kopina in my Vive. Works well, but I suspect my framerate may have been pretty low.

I am going to lie down now.

Thanks :) Although tbh it wasnít too difficult to get to the end when the car was prodding along nice and slowly - I would probably have had a fatal crash if it was going full speed!

Iíll be joining you guys soon now that it has VR, probably need to practice first. I suppose I need to get the expensive version if I want to join the races you guys create on here?

You can still join in but you wouldn't be able to enter in the DLC events. Lot of people saying you need a beast of a PC to get it running at a usable framerate in VR.

Ooh so marginally less mental than Group B then. This should be interesting.

I wouldn't say they're mental at all really. The Subaru and Lancer are two of the most driveable cars in the game.

Yeah theyíre quite fun to drive, just find them a bit top heavy compared to the NR4 versions. Which are more modern of course.

Neither of them have anything on the Delta for that problem. Stupid wobbly rocket tank.

I prefer the Group A Evo to the R4 one, the latter feels a little too stiff for my liking. I keep suffering random heavy understeer in it, the Group A one doesn't seem to do that.

The Delta is the fastest Group A car but also hardest to control. The Cossie is just a dud, too slow and terrible default setup. I'll go for Lancer and Impreza, but tbh I'm not sure if I'll be attending regularly, I do feel some fatigue.

I can understand that, Iíve been dropping in and out a bit more than I was. Still pretty smitten though.

Just blasted through the USA in one sitting, not done that for a while. Usually have a couple of breaks, but only have limited time over the next few days.

Got really sloppy on the last stage and rolled my car about six times in one crash but somehow ended up pointing the right way. Bloody lucky there.

Nice! Iíve already had a go at the Ford Focus 2001. For some reason you can try it out if you set up a custom event, set to online. Seemed pretty good.

I'm busy over the next couple of week, so I'm going to miss out on most of the EG championship. I might get some time over the weekends.

    I'm getting withdrawal symptoms.

    Came in to post this.
Since I have the DLC now I'll have to give this another go.

I was absolutely useless on the steering wheel.
Does anyone have recommended settings for the Logitech G920 wheel?

Yep, remove that stupid rubber thing in the brake pedal. Super easy to do, and really helps being able to brake properly without having to adjust the saturation.

I change the rotation to 360 degrees too, but thatís just personal preference.

Does Eurogamer have a club set up? I've tried not to be a lazy boy and trawled back through about 20 pages of posts but can't find any info on it. I suppose I'll need to set up a driveclub, dirtclub, codenet whatever thingy account to join in :/ and are the clubs multi-platform? I'm on PS4.
