    Tbh I found the championships a little overwhelming, the last one went over almost 4 weeks. As DR2 isn't my main game, I'd probably partake more if it required less dedication and was a little more casual. Don't know about everyone else, if they feel the same or not.

    As for the other club, I'm not a fan of FWD and especially not H1. That's just not my cup of tea. If I had the choice, I'd make everything RWD in rain and snow but a little voice in my head keeps telling me that might not necessarily result in a surge of participants either.

    Maybe have a brisk 3 or 4 stages per event? You could still add hardcore damage to make it more lively.

    If there's a championship to race, I'll race it, even if I'm the only one doing it. Maybe the gamepass crowd will join in a bit?

    I've still got the DR1 clubs in my list. I can leave them or being a mod I can actually disband them. Would anyone mind if I just disbanded them?

    I left them last night thinking they would be dead.

    They're dead as a dodo, so... you know what, I'll just kill them off

    In exploding gekz I set them to 5 days per 12 races, probably a bit much. Next time around I will reduce the amount of races and keep it at 5 days.

    Yeah I thought about giving the Gekz one a go, then thought better of it because it was so long. Another vote for shorter events from me too then please.

    Congratulations, some have been promoted. You can now create your own events. If anyone else wants to be let me know.

    Oh, is that a thing? I will happily cede responsibility for creating the rallies to anyone who is interested.

    I thought it would be fine to have a long event but with a long time to do it. Clearly this is not appropriate to the (moany bitch arse) people. I will have a look at the championship at some point and create a new one with a shorter time or whatever.

    Okay I've set up a lightweight championship, 2000cc, 3 events, 4 stages each, 3 days each, hardcore damage. Let's see what happens. Starts today at 20:00.

    There are two pending requests, "Umekurver" and "Skullb". What's the current policy on accepting new members?

    I noticed Iíve got some faint burn-in of the speedometer on my 7 year old plasma. First time that happens! Would love to see how many hours Iíve spent in the game but I donít think itís possible on ps4?

    I had really bad retention on my plasma from the speedometer as well. Took a couple of months to clear. Games really should have transparency options for huds these days. They even have it in F1.

    I keep jumping between this and WRC 8. Having spent 40 quid on WRC, even though I donít like it as much, I feel like I should give it a proper go.

    Iíll say this for it, while I donít think the handling compares to DR, the tracks themselves are much better looking. Thereís just more going on around them, and much more detail on the roads themselves, so they feel a bit more real. Or something.

    Basically, if you could take the cars and handling from DR, and the tracks from WRC, weíd have something truly special.

    I do think the Wales tracks are the pinnacle of rallying modelled into a game world. There is a good level of course complexity mixed with environmental changes, Sweet Lamb being the highlight. It goes from some tricky early sections to a nice open part back to a hemmed in area of maximum danger.

    Best of all, I have been to the rally in real life and I can even picture where I have been on the course. Or at least I feel like I can.

    Regardless of how good some of the tracks are in DR2 they have never managed to capture quite the same thing as a natural course.

    The Wales tracks in both games are fantastic thatís for sure. And theyíre equally as tough, but fun, to drive on.

    The WRC versions are proper moody when it raining. Thatís another thing actually, the dynamic weather is pretty impressive there.

    If only I wasnít stuck driving R5s or the official WRC cars. They just donít have as much personality as the classics.

    Downloaded this yesterday and have to say that it starts you off on a completely uninspiring and overly finicky set of stages in Argentina.

    It was painful, and almost felt like a bloody luge run or corridor shooter at times it was so enclosed in rocks.

    Not exactly grabbed me..

    @Juz

    With "it starts you off", which mode are you referring to? I think only the Historic Rallies in Free Play have a predefined set of stages. Championship in career mode shuffles events.

    But yeah Argentina is probably the worst place to start the game with. It's very technical and pretty difficult and may be the least liked location on average (as for uninspiring, it's actually the real world El Condor rally stage).

    I suggest trying USA or New Zealand for a less off-putting first impression, in Time Trial or Custom Events.

    @DrStrangelove

    I think I just started off Career Mode? Just surprised me that the first thing wouldnít have been something impressive and/or a bit more free flowing.

    I seem to remember DR1's career starts in Greece, which while good is certainly a baptism of fire in a similar way to how you describe Argentina (haven't played DR2).

    @Juz I guess that what they would have done if it was predefined, but career always just shuffles events.

    Well Iíll stick with it for a bit and watch a few nice replays and then delete it like I do with all rally games, it seems.

    I love all my Forzaís, GTís, Wreckfest etc. etc. But rally games never hold my attention for some reason..same with F1 games, for that matter. Weird.
