I went into those logs too, but I applied some breaks and wasn't going too fast, survived.

Can we do another one GreenYamo?

Congrats to DrStrangelove for a convincing win in this championship in probably the toughest cars to drive.

I'll set up another one in the morning. Any course/ car preferences?

@DrStrangelove It's too bloody easy to do that! There should at least be an "are you sure?" notification.

    I've re-added you.

    Thanks.

Yeah that is really stupid. I went to the page to see results, lost in thought, and clicked the red button in the middle of the picture (the wrong one). Boom you're out.

Olly? I really think this should be handled differently.

Had a blast at the league, went off twice in the final race which is pretty unacceptable. I got had by the same old things I did in DR1. Greece looks amazing in the DR2.0 engine.

I went off way too many times. I must have got 5 or 6 penalties I think, plus a couple of times where I went off but could get up on the road without it reseting to track. A tiny mistake in Greece often has disastrous consequences, what with all the road side rocks and steep edges.

The secret to Greece is basically to not crash into rocks and not drive of the cliff. It's a classic case of "if in doubt, slow down". This lesson helped me a lot in Finland too recently, I realised I could be pretty competitive when I managed to bring up the self control needed for not flooring it.

I was having a decent first stage until i clipped the rock face on the inside of a corner, then slipped down an embankment to my demise. Bugger.

Went off a few times in Greece last night, especially on the last race I think, but fortunately just off those weird corners that you just have to slow down for, otherwise there is a short slope to a trees and grass area to fall into, no cliff dives.

I've just checked the current championship on the website, and hey I'm not that far behind! Sympathies to Stirkovich and Pac for going off bad.

Greece is a track that while gorgeous to look at, demands respect. There are downhill bits with hairpins at the bottom and you forget how fast you're going. When matey says "slow", I have found it's always worth listening, even if it's a for 5 or 6 corner, you need to enter the section and such and such a speed, if you're going too fast it's the next bit you can't see yet that will get you.

Last time we did Greece I went off one of those cliffs, was just happy to finish it just now.

Had a bit of a shitter in Spain as well. I'm usually OK there. Never mind, eh?

Wow... I just had my best daily result ever, #9 in the Renault Alpine in Monte Carlo. Still 22 seconds behind #1, heh. Some of those guys are just insane.

Couldn't beat Salrip and Stirkovic in Spain though.

Missed the Spain stage. Internet was playing up last night so couldn't connect to Racenet. Only went on just now, been asleep all afternoon.

@DrStrangelove Wow! Good going.I think I managed a 41st once, some of the times are insane.

Congrats on the championship win also. I'll put another one up later today.

I accidentally set up 4 events instread of three, so the final round might not conform to the 3 short and one long stage formula. Not entirely sure if the last stage even has the same car class...

Welp, I crashed twice on every stage except 3, where I only crashed once. Good start!
  • Deleted user 16 December 2019 20:22:49
Dunno if Racenet is being racist against me, but I can't load my profile up with DR2 :(. Will try later tonight.

Oh man, that was close! I think I had about four seconds lead going into the last stage. It started bad with a roll, but I picked up the pace and got some green sectors but then at the second to last split I got stuck and lost some time so I was about 4.5 second behind going into to the last split. Knowing it would be very close I wasn't too sure about the finish and took it a bit safe - about 0.7 sec behind the Doc overall...

Had some good stages and some not so good ones. Came off a few times on the last stage. Finished up with mere hundredths of a second between me and skullb.

Finland was another close one! Pac finishing 0.7 seconds ahead of Salrip, that's twice that's happened to Salrip now... I was doing well until I pushed a little to hard on the final stage and got a puncture.

I'm going to write off Wales, I crashed so many timee on the first stage, I'm surprised I didn't right off the car. If everyone else could retire, that'd be grand, ta.

Hey up, I've set up a 12 stage Finland Group B 4WD event that's running until Sunday evening. Normal championships will return after the holidays!

As a festive bonus here's a rally video I edited.
Watching some 90's rally stuff on YouTube, I noticed these two New Zealand commentators sounded like the were having a lot of fun so I thought I'd do a highlight video:

I lost count of the times they said "I'll tell you what".

Hmm, trying to start the 3rd stage, but it's been stuck on the loading screen with the map for 5 minutes at least. Don't know if I can continue if I restart the game or if it will count it as I've retired from the championship? I'll wait some more minutes to see if it starts...

Edit: I could continue after a restart of the game.

Just done the first stage, and out of me, salrip and Lambretta, I'm in first place, 1.4 seconds ahead of salrip! Now watch me crash out of the next stage...
  • Deleted user 31 December 2019 00:41:49
Done stages 1-6, that'll do for tonight. Pleased with me progress.
