I just turn on a few driving aids and play on the os4 controller. I can see how it must be rewarding for some people to play this at the hardest possible settings but Iím not that sort of gamer and I like it fine with the aids turned on.

Shame that codemasters network stuff is a bag of shite! Couldnít play any online modes all day Thursday, and I find it unbelievable that the main single player mode is actually an Ďonlineí mode.

    @Bambot

Agreed. I'm poor at best at this so when I played on pc I used an Xbox one pad with various assists on. Still not tried PS4 version yet.

Although, the latest championship is mostly DLC with probably the hardest cars to drive.

I can set up a non-DLC, standard car on next time if we have any newcomers who got the game on PS plus.

@Dave_McCoy Yeah, no probs. I have accepted your request.

There's also someone called aza0340 on there, is that an EGer?

Servers on PS4 were much better yesterday.

re. handbrake button. I liked having it mapped to the L3/R3 button on the main body on a T300 wheel. Taking a hand off the wheel to press the button and then steering with one hand just felt right. I sold the wheel a couple of years ago and was concerned that this would be a bit unwieldy on a pad but it plays great.

Is the year 1 DLC just the cars and locations from DR1?

@Bambot I been shhowing people the game and letting them go withh no assists and tbh I think it helped them, some are auto only but as far as traction control etc I dont think it helps the control of the car like a circuit racer. I may be wrong.

£12.99 on cdkeys for game and all dlc https://www.cdkeys.com/pc/games/dirt-rally-2-0-super-deluxe-edition-steam-pc

@JamesUK Locations are remade but cars dont seem to be ripped from first game, I just bought the normal rally locations for about £3 each as season 3 + 4 came out.

@KD no way Iím wasting time and emotions learning to play a video game with manual gears, I drive an automatic in real life, Iím fine with just using steering and decent acceleration/brakes to get round the courses. But Iím not really a petrol head. The mechanics of cars bore me, and I got this game free on Plus, so Iíll play with it for a bit until it gets too stupidly difficult and delete it.

@Bambot What I meant is do the gears how you want but full tc and abs made a few people I know worse at the game, turning them down made them faster and like you they dont play driving games much.

ABS helps with locking up but traction control and stability control will only slow you down.

@Decks I have them set at one.
    What do they actually do?

I find the gameís refusal to tell you that much is quite alienating.

Traction control cuts your engine power when the wheels spin. You don't really want that to happen in a rally car. Stability control is designed to stop the car skidding (fuck knows how) - again something you don't really want to happen in a rally car. Although it does make the rear wheel drive cars a lot easier to handle.

Setting them on low won't a a huge affect anyway, but you want them as low as you can possibly get them while keeping the car manageable for you.

Between adjusting the logitech profiler sensitivity and in game steering saturation I may have found it actually enjoyable to use the wheel, the clutch pedal as handbrake I'm not the best with but time will help.

£5.99 on CD Keys, be rude not to, quite enjoying it, might even stop my iRacing for a while.

Any control setup tips, my Fanatec configured out of the box like shite, whacked up sensitivity and it helped, I hate Codemaster configuration

Cheers Decks, Iíll try turning those back off, see how I go. Right now Iíve yet to properly finish a full series, usually I have to retire at the last event as my lights get smashed up and itís at night, thereís just no point even trying. But Iíve only had it a week :)

Had a go at rallycross as I heard it was easier to get credits there and did quite well, knocked out in first series, finished first in the second, which was nice.

If you want to get some easy extra credits, finish only the first stage of weekly and monthly events and wait until they end. You'll get hundreds of thousands even at bottom ranks. Use a car you don't like though as you won't be able to use it elsewhere as long as it's in an unfinished event.

Ray Charles league, wont earn you money but that club is good for when your new, repair after every stage and no need to buy cars or upgrades, real people competing.

I never touched much of the single player except time trials, like mrsleep said except I actually tried to finish a single 8 stage rally or at least the first of a few events to get on the leader board.

Ha, fluffed this week badly. Just started out, pootling along in the Fulvia in the historic rally bit, loaded up the faster rear wheel drive cars and scared the crap out of myself. Could not keep the thing straight.

Spotted this on GMG for cheap and am interested for the VR mode. For someone who is more of a smash-and-bash single player type, is the super deluxe version worth another tenner? 11 tracks sounds like a lot if they're the full multi-stage rallies I think they are.

I was going to ask about the handling on pad but then noticed it's on PS Plus to I'll try it there. I've got a G27 but I don't really have the energy to drag it out, and in any case I'll just spend the whole time playing Scud Race instead or something.
