Wales has some very forgiving grass, drove through a couple of fields and up the side of a hill on the fist couple eg stages. (course I got stuck on a forest verge on stage 2 during my actual competition run)

One mistake on a stupid 4 left corner where I hesitated on the accelerator, pressed the brake and hit the inside then went over the road tapped the post on the right side and slipped off into the trees. This was the 20 second difference. Fair play to Salrip, the consistency is impressive.

I have a terrible habit of wiping out spectators when reversing after a spin out. I feel pike a 15 second penalty is a fairly light punishment for the massacre.

The understated approach to manslaughter is odd, find it shocking seeing my poorly piloted vehicles tumbling into these crowds of rally nerds. Maybe because the game feels so grounded in reality.
Would be creepy if they kept same approach but just removed sections of crowd when you do a reset penalty.

Ran out of time for last stage of Wales, apparently you have to finish the race before the time expires. I had 2 mins 40.. Not sure even old salrip could've managed that! (I was +45 off stage leader in the end..)

Think I was first up at Greece

Decent first stage I thought, the on the 2nd my Subaru flew off a cliff attempted to fly but realised it has no wings.

    Terminal damage.........

Yea that second stage has some hazardous drops! Got away with this - https://youtu.be/OY8SBNzFvT0

The fence posts are much harder to smash through relative to wales, that cost me abit on stage one. Then being slow cost me on the others.

Well that was a terrible effort. Two flips leading to being stuck on the roof, three slip offs on one stage and then a puncture followed by terminal damage on the last. Rubbish. I obviously didn't respect Greece enough, I was also confused as the braking was quite different to the other gravel stages I have been driving recent, it required much earlier braking which I kept getting wrong.

Oh and the terminal damage was pretty bullshit, I had slipped off the track into some grass and trees and was driving parrellel to the road to get up some momentum to get back on the track and then it just ended the run. Probably no bad thng given my efforts up to that point.

Looks like everyone else crashed in Greece... I'll take it!

By the way first two stages on Monte Carlo are tarmac, the second two are snow/ice. You should be able to go with soft tires for the first couple, and switch up to winter for remainder.

    That's my plan anyway!

Are you stirkovic? Congrats! Whoever skull_duggery is - you're my target time for next championship!

Australia in the wet is my new fave course, the mud feels so tactile with how the cars slide. Fences a sensible midpoint between the crazy taxi smashable Welsh ones and the immovable Greek ones.

@mudskipp I'm Skullbuggery, I'm getting used to a wheel and triple screen so I wouldn't expect too much fight, I'm faster on a pad in vr but changing it up lately.

    @damagedinc https://dirtrally2.com/clubs/club/179065

The arrows on either side of Championship on that page.

    https://dirtrally2.com/clubs/club/179065/results/championship/7/event/2

Drop down boxes for each stage and times on the actual page for each rally like above.

Ah perfect. I was trying to find it on the actual game.

Not that I have times worth looking at. Like to see what you guys are doing.

Realised that sounds a bit odd

@KD sounds like a good set up. I find making minor adjustments on a pad kindof brings me out of the realism abit as it makes it feel a touch gamey when twitching back n forth.

Is it very disorientating when you roll the car? Immediately made me think of rolling down hills as a kid first time I properly went over and that's only with a single old finlux (..finnish luxury) tv

Thanks for the tip, I find Monte Carol's tyre selection continually confusing.

I laughed. 00.00.508! That last track was perilous, I came so close to terminal damage riding the outside barrier of a 3 right that I had midjudged.

@mudskipp I wish I had the wheel when I bought the game, I found it the same switching to manual in games after I had played in automatic, start as you mean to go on or its a pain.

A pic of my setup linked, grabbed the monitors during this lockdown mainly as I find vr hard to do for long periods of time and started playing iracing a lot.

Really, 90% of it is practice and experience. The true aliens are on the time trial leaderboards who zoom through stages with an average speed of 200 mph
