A week long H2 RWD Swedish rally starts soon. I will give those wheel settings a try nitrous.

I set up Simhub after falling into a iracing rabbit hole on overlays and dashboards, grabbed a dash for this and turns out pretty good with an old Ipad air and Galaxy s6 I had.

    Awesome!

For any casuals like myself - I found rwd considerably easier after putting on a couple of assists at low level. Something about braking and wheel lock (?).

Got me past the Colin McRae stage I was stuck on

Did you crash out on stage 3 KD? Our S1&2 times were really similar was wondering how that was gonna play out!

High speed crash into an ambulance in heavy snow, I should have practiced before starting that stage.

    Haha good choice of target

I've gone for the older alpine car, looks fairly light so hoping I can get through this one without too much impact damage.

Well done to the 2 people completed the last one, was a nightmare.

8 stages of USA in F2 kit cars over 7 days has started, only 2 services at stage 4 and 7 so beware.

Seems I've missed some action. Did you try the wheel setup I posted on the previous page KD?

Yes I did, it helped with the clipping noises from the G920 but I did keep some of the other effects on or a little higher, bit more active wheel than yours but feels better for myself with your settings to help.

Ah OK sounds good. It's all down to personal preference especially with the feedback.

I need to populate my friends list on the PS4/5 with you and others who actually play Dirt Rally. Do we have a list?

8 stages of Spain starts this evening, H2 FWD cars and ends in a weeks time.

I bought a usb handbrake so I expect to be slowed down again until I get used to it.

@KD didn't get chance to finish this one but after three stages I had far less damage than usual in Argentina, the hardcore settings have clearly affected my driving style!

    How's the handbrake working out?

I don't understand wet tarmac as a surface at all.

@mudskipp It's been great for the rallycross mode, still getting used to it tho and most the time I'm still trying to hit the old button for it.

Does the USB handbrake work on the Xbox as well, or is it PC only? That's surprisingly cheap compared to what I thought they cost.

@andytheadequate It's an Arduino Leonardo board and some cheap machined metals and a usb cable, only works on the pc but doesnt need drivers due to the board in it.

People can make all sorts of driving and flying button boxes with these parts.

@KD cheers for putting these up, I did a couple of stages earlier, hopefully I won't crash out of this one.

Got some symptoms of rsi last months so I've been quite careful with my gaming time. Bought a new mouse which have improved things so hopefully I can participate a bit soon. This game is not easy on the hands when playing with a controller...

@salrip surely that's an excuse to buy a steering wheel :D

I'm still getting used to the game with the wheel, I'm getting fairly fast but struggle on right corners and end up crashing badly at least once per race so I'm pretty slow still.

@andytheadequate money is tight, otherwise it would be a no-brainer to get a wheel. Kinda miffed that my wheel for ps3 doesn't work on the ps4, can't see no reason it shouldn't really. I'm so used to the controller now, I would feel so slow with a wheel :)

Final update out today.. much copying ahead..

Playing with hardcore damage helped me learn to crash less I reckon, I'd recommend trying that as it really focuses you on the risk each road section carries

Yeah we both been getting similar penalties and times, I'll finish mine tomorrow and set up another for Monday.

    Any track you do want?

I think Greece is one of my, if not my favourite location. Relentless, dangerous, never a moment where you can relax.

Did a pretty sweet 360 in one of the early stages.

Greece is one of my favourites too, I was decent at it on a pad but useless with a wheel, whereas I found the USA tracks fairly easy with a wheel.

Only done the first stage so far but did terribly. I wasn't great at the best of times, but getting used to the wheel and finally using manual gears isn't a very fast or safe combination fore at the moment...

In other news, they've added the True ForceŽ️ feedback for the new Logitech wheel. Unfortunately it reset all my default settings and it made it sound like the wheel was about to shake itself to death. I had to turn everything right down so I could actually hear the TV. The worst one was the engine feedback, had to put that to less than 10 (default was 100!).
