@DrStrangelove ha honestly that track is crazy, itís deceptive because itís so fast but that speed catches you out. Itís scary.

The more I see it running the less likely I think it'll be that it'll work on PSVR.

Why? It'd obviously have to be cut back visually for PSVR like the first one was. I haven't watched many videos of this but from what I've seen it doesn't look that different from the first.

It's presumably running on PCs in the videos though. DR1 on PC probably also looks quite a lot better than on base PS4.

Didn't the original use the last gen version of the EGO engine? And this uses the newer one found in DiRT 4 and F1?

Oh right, well I guess it is quite different then.

If you know you'll stick with it, the season stuff does sound great, they're bringing all the DR1 rallies back: http://blog.codemasters.com/community/02/seasonone-dr2/

I can't wait. Been playing F1 at the moment and the improvements codemasters fave made to their wheel feedback have got my knickers soaked for this.

Are we going to have enough on PS4 for a league?

I wasnít going to buy this until PSVR is confirmed and it drops in price.

Iím will compete in a league when my deluxe copy arrives on Friday...

Can we do our stage times at our own convenience? Would be good if so

Assuming the league setup is like the original you get a few days to set a time before it moves onto the next one.

I'm afraid I'll have to give it a miss. Money is the usual issue but I also stopped playing DR1 because it became too much and I don't have the energy and reflexes required anymore.

Well I'm pretty sure the first one went beyond my skills at one point so I'm probably best off with the base edition for £25. I'll probably get it pre ordered this week.

    Sounds good.

if you enter a league then it should block you from
practicing those stages before. It would be tempting
to have a few cheeky runs before setting a time.

I really don't like the idea of a season pass that's selling the tracks that were already in dirt rally. It's not even the best ones either, I guess Greece and Wales will be in season 2.

Do we know if leagues are in day one?

Absolutely. For all that I loved Dirt Rally, virtually all my time in game was spent in those two environments. I think I'll need to know exactly what content is in there before I buy it this time. I have no interest in Rally Cross, and I don't find tarmac / asphalt good to drive.

@SteveBUK You could set the league to one and done (which I used to do when I ran the DR1 PS4 league), but there's no way you can stop people practising.

Totally agree though, that practising is against the spirit, and that's why the 'procedurally generated' tracks of Dirt 4 were such a disappointment.

Around a month later apparently. Though they said they we coming in Dirt 4 and I don't think they ever did.

And yeah odd choice for the DLC locations, I'm guessing the gravel courses require more work with the deformation stuff.

Found the full track listing on youtube, quite a dry video for obvious reasons but I'll summarise here for people who are as dull as me -

Argentina - heavy gravel, lethal canyons

Australia - gravel / smooth asphalt; alternates between forest and farmland. Lots of obstacles, and visibility concerns due to dust.

New Zealand - gravel, runs the length of the coast with cambered roads, ditches and dirt buildup.

Poland - asphalt / dirt, lots of high speed gravel roads and airtime.

Spain - smooth asphalt. Closest thing to circuit racing in rallying, but with large drops on parts of the course.

USA - medium / heavy gravel, high speed tracks through woodland.

Each rally location has 12 tracks, although I'm not sure how much overlap there is between them. Looks like most of it appeals to my sensibilities - no snow or ice for fans of that sort of thing.

Surely you'd lump Finland in with the best of DR1? The speed, oh my word the speed.
