    The strange thing about Australia is that I think it's easier wet than dry

    7:09 is about the best I will do as I cba to keep going at that track. I only made one big mistake and it was right near the end, I have had a few goes with the different cars. The Ford seems like the fastest but it is pretty unpredictable in places.

    The calls are wrong as well, they should all have 'caution' appended to them.

    'Right 6. Only it's not, because you will die if you try. Maybe call it a 3?'

    Australia is the only location I don't like. Argentina feels very much like it was made with the track creation tool from Dirt 4 too.

    My biggest gripe with DR2 is that apparently the stages are all imaginary. DR1 stages were modelled after real-world tracks, you could find them on Google Maps if you searched long enough. Not so with DR2.

    I love DR2 and I like its stages, but they do feel a little generic and samey in comparison. It does feel like a cheap shortcut, and like just taking existing assets from Dirt 4. Disappointing.

    I really hope season 2 will bring back Wales, Greece and Finland. I do think DR2's physics/handling are a major improvement, and I'd love to go back to those with the new physics/handling.

    I doubt they'll do the work required to get the track deformation stuff working on the old gravel tracks. The general consensus seems to be season 2 will be rallycross shit.

    7:01.529 on that Australia stage (Peugeot 208). That'll have to do.

    8m20 in the Skoda. I was taking it pretty easy (hence the time) but still flipped the car a couple times. Thatís quite and intense course!

    Yeah those 6 left 6 right sections... it's possible to take them flat out most of the time but you're just hopping from bump to bump at 170kmh or whatever, with rock walls to the left and abyss with trees to the right... getting a good time here should pop up a suicide hotline window

    @DrStrangelove

    Is that a hint? You're the fastest here by a country mile (approximately 45 seconds the way you drive).

    Nah, still half a minute behind the leader. I guess I went fast but still tried to not push it so far that I would be vaporised if I was going a centimetre too far to the side.

    That is illogical anyway because a second is a measurement of time while a country mile is a measurement of distance. Furthermore, a second is a valid SI unit while a country mile is actually undefined, so couldn't even be used to measure distances. On top of that, driving a longer distance makes little sense in rallying anyway.

    Have I mentioned I'm German

    @Mr_Sleep

    Sorry, I simply meant that if performance in Dirt Rally is analogous to degrees of psychopathy, then Dr Strangelove is currently eating a census taker's liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.

    Here's Porkhammer (the guy who dominated DR1 leaderboards) doing USA in the Cossie. Apparently the trick is to just drive in a straight line with your foot down. I'll try to keep that in mind.

    @neems hah. I am just barely eating half a kidney with some butter beans and white lightning.

    First go was a cautious 7.21.540.

    Had a few more runs, but it turns out if I try to go any faster, I just smash my car to bits.

    Might have another crack later.

    My first go was way out at 8mins 30 or so, just pootling along and getting a feel for the track a bit. The next 8 or so subsequent goes were DNF DNF DNF DNF ... because of those dodgy fast bits. I did manage to post a 7.48-odds time eventually, but that was still with plenty of caution and rough cornering. I could maybe break 7.30 if everything goes to plan.

    I drove the Skoda, which was a stodgy, understeering lump until I fiddled with the LSD settings. That livened it right up 👍

    FYI, in my opinion the Polo is the best car in this class

    edit: Polo. Not Golf.

    Wow. His control of the car is incredible. Almost feels like it's on rails.

    7.36 on the first run with the polo. Really don't like Australia. First time in the R5 though and they're pretty fun.

    Funnily enough, I like Australia but I'm not a fan of R5. Not masochist enough.

    Yeah thatís pretty poor for you wheel users. Iím mainly hoping they fix the career AI with their crazy world record times (particularly on the H2 classes) as well as the frequency of night and rainy courses.

    They mentioned the rain frequency will be in the patch. Not sure about the times though.
