    I quite enjoy Talim, she is quite a close ranger fighter and he attacks are pretty weak.
    She has the single most damaging attack that isn't an unblockable or super in the game. I don't know how you do it, but wind stance into forward thrust and it'll do about 50%.

    I did see someone dress Talim up in Ivy's costume last night however, so I feel like I'm on a watch list now.

    Wind stance is one of those things that I tend to do accidentally, I think there are several moves / combos that lead into it. Talim has a mechanic where you can put directional inputs after various moves that I struggle to get my head round.

    Yeah she's very similar to Maxi in the "micro-stance" using directional inputs. Falls into a very flowchart order of attacks.

    She's great to RE against though, multiple attacks give BIG meter gain.

    I'm a big fan of Raphael. Once you master his combos his reach is ridiculous and the speed of his attacks is difficult to counter, even after attacking I can keep the preasue on with his speed as well as creating some of my own combos. I'd say he's OP but you're heavily reliant on his preset combos and speed spam to open up holes in your apponets defence.

    I'm currently on a 9 win streak with him.

    I think this is the worst itteration of Raphael there's been actually. He has no answer for sidestepping, and RE eats his pressure.
  • Deleted user 22 October 2018 12:16:16
    I never considered that - I good shout.
    He has only one or two decent moves to counter sidestepping now that I think about it.

    Oh, and I can confirm after playing Los for 7 hours that the paltry amount of customisation items you see is all you get. It's so shit.

    Raph is a slippery little shit, with his stance dodges and GI's, but he's not an offensive powerhouse. If I can beat out 90% of your button presses by just sidestepping left or right, that's not good. His range isn't exceptional either in a game where you have Seong-mina, Kilik, Seigfried, Ivy, etc. What he does offer is great mixup and oki game. Get someone down and it's a 50/50 as to which starter he'll run against you.

    But lack of a horizontal answer is poor. I know it's true to the fighting style and character, but it isn't good enough to be competitive.

    @Rivuzu

    You seem all knowledgeable. Whats your fav fighter this gen?

    Not all knowledgeable, and my execution still isn't great, but fighting games are all I play*.

    This gen? DBFZ. I love team fighters, and that game has some great stuff to it. Every day new tech is being discovered as well. It's the insanity of UMVC3, which I played for years, but with less cheap stuff.

    Soul Cal is special though. Spent WAYYYYYYYYYY too long playing SC2 growing up. Tekken too.

    Edit: * = Mostly all. I mean right now between the Switch, PS4 and PC version, I'm putting in as many hours into DBFZ as I am at work in a week, what with a long commute and all.

    @Rivuzu

    There are still a few I've not played this gen. Tekken 7 (which is en route) also MvsC infinite? and that DBFZ.

    @AddyJB Tekken 7 is great. Easily the best Tekken has ever been.

    MvCI is mechanically sound, but dead. It was dead on arrival. We're just into a year since its release and nothing notable. Too many issues with missing characters, treating characters as "functions" and the art style.

    DBFZ is as close to a MVC as we have now. It's Arc System Works as well so carries over all of the BlazBlue nuances that made that game fun, but in an impressive, flashy, fun way.

    He's far too linear and easily sidestepped.

    Honestly the balance is pretty poor, sophitia siegfried and nightmare are just ridiculous and nightmare is far too fast.

    Soul charge is a cheap mechanic and I just don't see the value of reversal edge at all given how easily and painfully you can lose it

    I liked the art style, it was sharp. The Stones were an interesting idea.

    A far better looking game than this one that's for sure.

    it's just too fast for me

    Yeah honestly I don't give a fuck for your opinions Dungeonbash. Prior comments lead me to believe you're misinformed.

    I've barely posted on this forum. Nothing I've said has been offensive nor to attack anyone and yet I'm being insulted repeatedly? Is this how you have a conversation on here, just attack people who don't agree with you?

    Yeah who's insulted you?

    And apologies but you have a very similar posting style to some simpleton that was posting in the injustice thread a while back. He wined about the amount of characters and then told somebody that he hoped they died of cancer like a spoilt child. Again my apologies if that's not you.
