Enjoyed that, but yeah was a little short for my liking. Thought episode 1 was a good length and am disappointed they have got shorter and shorter...

Yeah, some great CG but fuck me that plastic dolly Yoda is starting to grate. Really takes me out of the zone with the stiff puppetry and lack of any real ‘life’.

The puppet is what makes it so charming!

It’s great, but there doesn’t feel like there’s much peril.
So the stakes are feeling much lower this series so far for me.

@simpleexplodingmaybe I kind of get it from a marketing perspective - the toy you buy looks JUST LIKE the ‘real’ one. But he just looks like he is carrying a dolly - especially when they pass it around.

Not a deal breaker but damn, it is a weak link.

Good episode, but yeah this is already the 2nd time in 3 episodes they've used this exact storyline pattern, plus numerous times in S1. Still some rough edges with production too - the repaired Razor Crest as a matte background stuck out like a sore thumb.

But good to finally get some plot progression this season, and continues to be easily the best SW output since Rogue One.

I’d prefer a Sasha Grey cameo to be honest.

    Yup, this.

Next week Mando goes on a trek across the world on a fetch quest to where there's an icon on his map. As soon as he reaches the icon, a horde of enemies will attack. Once he's defeated those, he will fast travel back to his original location, and the quest giver will tell him to travel to another world where, this time, there will definitely be more Mandos. Honest.

The puppet will get stuck walking head first into the scenery for 5 minutes

Really enjoyed it even if it still feels clunky, their tactic of walking headfirst into laser fire was a bit silly. Nice to see bigger locations, the modified AT-AT and Imperial cargo ship was great.

The simplicity of the show is what I enjoy the most and it's basically monster of the week pew pew.

It's nice to have something that's just some guy travelling the universe rather than a show with multiple story arcs and characters that I don't really care about.

Thing is they keep teasing those arcs but showing nothing, but then i guess there wouldn’t be much point to it at all without even that. It is a good show put its format is a bit telling now, a few bum eps and some people may start to drift away. Weren’t they saying early viewing was down on last season? Then again that’s probably because the binge crowd feel they need to stay away till there’s more.

Remember, we “might” get some answers in season 3 guys.........

Yeah. After these 3 I'm definitely holding off til they're all out. Did that with The Boys and it was worth it.

This definitely needs to prove it's worth my time. I know the episodes are short but I feel like I've just watched the same thing three times, just desert, ice and water versions.

Small form factor stories are fine, great even. I think a lot of you guys have allowed yourselves to fall into the nonsense of rolling epics that that are seasons full of filler and some bullshit pale finale that completely fails to tie up the journey a decade down the line. Successful ones that don't disappoint are rare in the extreme.

The most recent was the first link/filler episode so far, and that's pretty good going imo.

I have really enjoyed the first three episodes. Din’s quest to find a Jedi is shaping up fine. He starts by looking for more Mandalorians, and is following leads. His first encounter doesn’t pan out as he’d hoped, but he carries on, and eventually finds some that point him in a direction that may lead to finding a Jedi.

Bearing in mind that Mandalorians and Jedi should be really rare at this point, my complaint is that it is progressing a little too quickly. But the absence of boring filler episodes works for me. It is a little odd that no one has said that the New Republic have a Jedi, Luke Skywalker, amongst their leaders.

Maybe the ultimate fate of Baby Yoda is to be slaughtered by Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren
