    iPad Pro, Mac Mini and Macbook Air

    The Mac Mini looks like a perfect replacement for my old iMac, especially as I have a monitor for working at home but the Option Prices are laughable.
    They charge 4x the retail price for a 1TB SSD, really shitty pricing Apple.
    I hpe they're user upgradable but they won't be :(

    Macbook Air looks nice but need to see how shit the CPU is..

    Souped up prices are eye watering, but my trusty quad core 2012 (the last one that was decent before they put in dual core mobile chips) still runs like a champ. Itís been on 24 hours a day for 6 years.

    Third party ram + SSD = win. Dunno if you can do that with new models, probably not knowing Apple.

    I don't like the guy all that much, I don't like his "life tips" and I don't like his politics, but I absolutely support what he's doing, even if there's a selfish reason behind it.

    Well Apple replaced my iMac screen for free within 2 days when it was years out of warranty.
    I should start a YouTube channel.

    Dunno. They look tremendous but may hold off a bit. Seems like a silly purchase given Iím still completely satisfied with my 10.5Ē.

    Curious to see how smaller the 12.9Ē is compared to the old one.

    In a characteristically sneaky Apple turn of events, it appears the 1TB iPads may have 6gb RAM, 2gb more than the lower storage models;

    I doubt that was recently. Their new overcharge to push customers into buying a new computer is only a few months old and it's burning customers left and right. There was also a period before this where they would tell customers that they were replacing things and doing nothing of the like, just replacing internal cables that were faulty out of the factory.

    I'm in for the 11" at the moment. Don't have a 10.5 or a 9.7 for that matter.

    Still not sure whether to cancel or not.

    @Armoured_Bear no doubt because you're on their "People that upgrade their phone each year like it's 2008" list.

    Its pricey.

    Even the cheapest model for me is £769, plus £120 for the pencil which i might ask for my birthday if my mrs is feeling generous.

    I dont think i need the keyboard case so i'll just get a third party for £20 or so. But the cost of repairs (£400ish) is making me feel like i want to add apple care which is £129 for 2 years.

    Which is £1038!!! Making me think twice for sure.

    It would be amazing for work, and also allow me to separate out work and personal life by just having my work stuff on the ipad. I could also move back to android phone wise.

    But still, £1038. jesus.

    Yeah but a phone that i use every day and i can resell for £5-600 if i choose. No regrets about the X whatsoever, the camera alone is worth £1k for taking pictures of the kids.

    Worry is the ipad gets used as a netflix / youtube device for £1k.

    Although i do think i would use it at work, even just as a £1k notebook lol.

    But our integration is pretty sweet, we could use it for video calls, company wide instant messaging and email, document sharing

    sounded like you would have used it every day for work from your first post, rather than a netflix portal. I never used my old iPad 3 tbh, rather do that sort of internetting on my phone and anything work related on a MBP. How good is the iPad pro for documents and shit really? I'd be tempted to replace my next MBP purchase with an iPad if i can do everything i need to - spreadsheets, invoicing etc

    @elstoof

    I would use it every day at work for sure, but work won't pay for it, so i'm essentially paying £1k of my own money for work. I would enjoy using it and it would probably enhance my productivity a bit, or at least i hope i would.

    Re: spreadsheets + powerpoints, i don't know for certain, i'm pretty sure if i opened spreadsheets and powerpoints for editing in mobile apps, i'd destroy all the formatting if i saved them down. Should be fine for reviewing and annotating purposes though. Plus if its my own deck or spreadsheet then i dont care.

    There are a few people here who have their own already. i'll try and find out.

    I was really hoping for a new iPad mini. The one I have (mini 1) is fine for everything... except viewing web pages. The size is just perfect for me. I consider the mini 4 too old to be a sensible purchase at this point.

    @THFourteen fair enough on the own money for work thing, I was looking at it from my self employed angle. Iím not a power user by any means but I usually get the top end MBP and it lasts me at least 6 years, so a slight worry I have is being pushed into upgrading the iPad after 2/3 years and negating any savings while losing the extra flexibility of a proper PC. Iíll probably end up sticking with a laptop
