Castlevania Netflix series

Search button be damned, but has anyone watched it? Series 1 was on last year which was essentially a film cut up into half hour segments.

It's really good! Set on Castlevania 3 and pretty respectful of the lore. Trevor Belmont is my right level of snarky arsehole.

    Recommended.

    Yup, really enjoyed it.

Not a spoilers, but when Bloody Tears gets played in Season 2, I was legitimately grinning from ear to ear.

Yeah, it was pretty decent. Lots of nice nods to the game.

Dracula went down like a bit of a bitch, though.

Wasn't really taken with the first season but it got into the swing of things in s2 and I really enjoyed. Think it was mentioned in the Netflix thread but the swearing like Sam L Jackson was a bit weird but apart from that I'm looking forward to the next series!

He was just a sad man.

Still, decent set up for a third season hopefully. More Hector/Isaac please.

I'm about mid way through, it's really good. Hopefully it continues.

"I'm starting to realise that I had more of a childhood than you"
"And your Dad was fucking Dracula".

I've heard Bloody Tears too much in my life, it should be boring by now, but I still think it's one of the best bits of video game music ever.

I fell off Castlevania after the N64 game (never had a PSone) until trying SOTN a few years ago on Vita so 'my version' of it is from Super Castlevania, climbing the clock tower. So fucking good.

    "Eat shit and die"
    "Yes, fuck you."

How can you not like that script writing?

Its a Warren Ellis script for a show about demons who violently dismember everyone they encounter. Of course its going to have a lot of effing and jeffing.

I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would - particularly the dialogue. The action is very cool too.

Though I don't know how they're going to stretch the second season out to 8 episodes, because it's feeling pretty... light in terms of plot so far.

And it does suffer a bit from the Netflix problem of individual episodes not really working on their own. The endings in particular - the episodes just kind of stop. They don't really end.
