@mikew1985 Sorry, missed your reply. Yeah, Sega own it. Until this announcement, Pillars was the only IP Obsidian owned. |

Registered 17 years agoI'm a little surprised by the overwhelmingly positive reaction this has got. I know it's Obsidian, but it looks about as generic as a sci-fi RPG could be. Fallout with a dash of WACKY humour.

I thought it looked pretty awful if that makes you feel better. -
Looks wank. -

Registered 10 years agoNew Vegas looked like just a wacky Fallout 3 from the early footage and trailers. I'm trusting it's gonna be good. It's definitely timely and riding a huge wave of Bethesda hate. -

Registered 8 years agoTbf it doesn’t look much more advanced technically than the fallout engine (although I think it is a bit better) and yet obsidian get a smoother ride.
I guess it’s because Bethesda have been milking that engine for so long despite cry’s of “please spend some of your mountain of cash”
I’m definitely getting this, unless it’s a total turkey but I don’t see that happening. One thing that did disappoint me in the extended reveal though was the lockpick process was just -hold down a button- I like a more tactile approach, funnily enough like the beth games do it as I’m always hacking and lock picking in those games.
It’s not looking revolutionary, the shooting looks a bit flat and the dialogue tree stuff is nothing new but at least the setting is a bit different and I love a bit of sci-fi. At this point I’ll take a traditional FPS rpg though as we seem a bit starved thanks to the dogshit that is 76.
I wonder how close to starfield this is? -

This looks really good - references of both Fallout NV and Bioshock (although I'm getting more of a Borderlands vibe) means this could be right up my street. Can't wait to see more!! -

Registered 2 years agoI saw you can pre load the game on game pass now. I'm in that strange place of not wanting to play a massive game as my attention span for games seems to be only a few hours now and then.. but I still want to give this a try. -

Registered 14 years agoI'm a bit FPS'd out at the moment with Borderlands 3, Rage 2 and Destiny 2..BUT I'm always in the mood for a nice RPG FPS; really would prefer a new (SP) Fallout or a new Elder Scrolls, but this may very well scratch that itch.
Plus, it's on Game Pass, so what's to lose? -

Registered 14 years agoIt's made by Obsidian so my bet is that it will be well written, buggy, good enough graphics, good enough combat but in the end you will walk away with fond memories and want to play through it again multiple times. -

Registered 8 years agoI was hyped at the initial announcement but the gameplay since hasn't really wowed me and I'm not sure this is a game I feel like playing at the moment.
Maybe I'll buy into the release hype nearer the time but right now I'm not sure. -

Registered 6 years agoIt looks alright. Absolutely nothing about it that hasn't been seen somewhere else(mostly Fallout) but since no other developers are making games like this since Bethesda have been have turned shite it has that in its favour.
It'll be probably be like most Obsidian games, well written with some interesting ideas and mechanics but also a bit janky and rough around the edges but I'm glad develoers like obsidian are still making single player games with no multiplayer/live service bollocks attached -

Registered 12 years agoI like me some Obsidian writing. Possibly the last one I'll play for a while now they're an MS studio but all the more reason to get a bit hyped for this one. -

Registered 12 years agoThough it's not actually a preload yet, because it only does a 10MB download so far.
I just hope it's as good as Deadfire and Tyranny -

Registered 15 years agoI'm trying to get through the behemoth that is AC Odyssey before this releases. I prefer playing one story game at a time, but AC is feckin (too) huge! -
