    This looks bad

Flimsy, dated effects, terrible jokes, and Non Perlman looking like he's stepped out of cosplay event

Del Toro & Perlman were definitive, why go back?

The sequel was okay - it looked the part at any rate. The guy from Bros was probably the best part about it.

    Looks fantastically shit.

Edit: Apparently Del Toro wanted a huge budget for 3 and studio decided to reboot at lower cost.

Really liked the Golden army but the first Hellboy was meh.

However both of the DelToro movies had a clear enough vision of what they wanted to be. This just looks as though it's trying its hand at everything. I heard Neil Marshall wanted to take it in a darker more horror focused direction but that trailer was all over the shop.

Who thought Mo from Eastenders was good casting?

I saw the trailer yesterday and I'm still shaking my head.

It doesn't even look fantastically shit, it just looks a complete mess.

Del Toro has such a flair for visuals and world building, that virtually anyone following would suffer in comparison. A better option would have been to go the animated route imho. Imagine what the guys behind "Into the Spiderverse" could do with this source material.

It was an odd trailer as all the PR before was about how dark this version would be compared with Del Toro.

Suppose their version of dark is Hellboy blowing holes through goons and dismemberment and Mo from Eastenders.

Thereís an argument that the first Hellboy had a pretty similar trailer too. Not that Iím defending this current trailer.

Nah. No more. I had more fun writing that review than watching the film.

Quite tempted to watch both Hellboys now.

Yeah the first hellboy was a bit all over the place and the ending just felt rushed iirc, elements of it were great but it didnít quite fit right in the end.
The second from my memory was more cohesive and was balanced a little better, more of a fun romp. Plus points in both for the beautiful Selma Blair.

This looks like utter turd, ropy sfx and harbour doesnít quite have the personality big enough to pull it off from what they are showing here so far.

I know Hellboy is Hellboy and there are only so many ways you could make someone up to look like him but it really bugs me that this looks so close to the Perlman make up but just different enough to look wrong and shitty.

Its almost like if SNL or something like that did a Hellboy sketch this is what their Hellboy would look like when he meets the real life actor Ron Perlman

That's a bit harsh, I love Decks' pictures.

The Hellboy trailer offers a sneak peek at Neil Marshall's R-rated reboot. It's futile to try and beat del Toro at his own monster movie game prepaidgiftbalance.

Just rewatching Hellboy now, itís not that great. It was good at the time but it could easily be cut to 40 minutes and get rid of the comedy (itís all very similar in tone to the new trailer). The effects are really ropey in places.
