Hmmm. Have decided to get Thronebreaker, but Steam are doing this '£5 off if you spend £30' thing, which effectively would mean I could get Return of the Obra Dinn for £10 rather than £15.

I'm going to have to put both of them on my list if I do, am I not?

Correct. Because if youíre not gonna play Obra Dunn now thereís a chance itíll be a fiver off by the time you are. Youíre inventing the need for the deal. Because you have a sickness. ;-)

@splosh sounds good. I've played quite a bit of other games in the series but never multi player.

You are correct, of course. But I do have 4 spaces, so I will give it some thought.

    Just finished Moss.

It looks gorgeous but it is very much outclassed by Astrobot as a platforms. Moss has a bit more to it regarding puzzles and story though. For some reason it reminded me of Ico.

Oh f#@*. Civilization is on sale in the eshop. I thought I'd done well not picking it up from argos. Looks like I was just unknowingly saving a few quid. Must. Resist.

Ah, yes yes! It's a good game, but as a puzzle/match 3 game, while servicable, not the most satisfying I've played, neither mechanically nor aesthetically. It's strengths lie elsewhere (the rogue-like structure, the setting, the tactical aspects etc.)

Biggest difference to PQ: only you play on the match 3 board, your enemies don't, which I thought was a little disappointing.

But still, it's a fairly deep, tactical and quite addictive game.
Excellent! Sounds just like what Iím after!

    Another couple of games down.

    🦆 Battlefield V, Pokemon Let's Go
🎯 Shadow of the Colossus, Everybody's Golf, Onrush, (N)Resident Evil 2 REMake, Ace Combat 7, Trials of the Blood Dragon

Ace Combat 7 ended up being quite a frustrating game for me but a worthwhile play and Trials Blood Dragon was awful.

Tempted to finally start Stick of Truth!

Downloaded and played Apex Legends, so I guess that should go on my list!

I did finally sell my xbox 360 and accessories, a spare xbox one and a wii u, though :) None of them were bringing me joy.

so, i feel like i have managed to fuck up my list in one fell swoop.

Buying Isaac (not a fan) and Wizards of Legends (love) in one go last week means i have rogue likes in 2 of my 5 slots, a series of games i am historically very much a fan of, but not so good at beating them :/.

That leaves only 3 open slots for the rest of the year and FF14 expansion is out in July.

Also March is gonna be a killer with seriko and devil may cry 5.

Well you don't need to beat. Especially a roguelike which can be nigh on impossible. You just need to have a serious goal eg play 20 hours. Kill mom etc

@Phattso It's not that long, is it? Do you maybe need to *clears throat* ... become better?
Yeah, not all that long - around 12 hours on the clock when I CRUSHED it last night - but it felt about five times that long. No idea why it annoyed me so much, but it took a while for the combat system to bed in so I could get through one particular difficulty spike, and then after that it was trivial and I rinsed every encounter first time with minimal casualties.

I was intending to do the trilogy through the year as the Switch versions went on sale, but I doubt I'll bother now. It's all just so processional. Much as I loved the elegiac tone of it all, the actual combat and choose your own adventure bits never quite worked for me.

On a sidenote, it would be an honour if I can gift you my copy of Detroit if you don't mind a German-language cover!
An honour is it? You wouldn't be attempting a bribe now, would you?! :-D

That's a very kind offer. Technically what I should be doing is starting Yoku Island Express, as I bought it in the sales at New Year and haven't looked at it. That's quite short as well, isn't it? But the thought of Dortmund: Werde Mensch (nice work, guys, btw, got a proper belly laugh out of me) is very very tempting...

I can buy The Division on sale for £5 to tide me over until The Division 2 and just swap it out right?

You'd need to finish Division 1 (Premiership?) first surely to stick to the rules.

Over a month until The Division 2 gets released, plenty of time to do the campaign.

Will you not just stagger buying them then? That's the clear solution, two of my slots are BFV and Let's Go, both of which I fully expect to be there still in the summer. 3 slots still feels like plenty to play with, I tend to just focus on one game at a time as hard as that can be for someone that is used to dipping in and out of stuff.

Had I not have been doing this I 100% would have gave up on Ace combat 7. Persist!

Lets Go is much quicker than the mainline Pokťmon games. Only took 20 hours to win against the Elite 4.

@Graxlar_v3 I really couldn't get on with BOI when I first played it on Vita a few years back. However, when I got the Switch I bought it on a US eshop sale before it came out over here (I'm still not sure why) and it just clicked this time. Once I got over the uncomfortable imagery and starting playing around with the mechanics I grew to love it.

edit: I've beaten Mom (I think) just the once, so pretty much all my runs end in failure. However, daily challenges and the associated leaderboards give an additional target. I've clocked up about 25 hours (I think Dead Cells took over at that point).

I didn't really like my first 20 hours with BoI.

But I loved the next 380 hours.

    It's one of those.

I hated the first 5 or so. But persevered, then suddenly hit my first great run and it all clicked. 100 hours later on my vita it is one of my favourite games ever. The only roguelike I every really clicked with. (FTL, Spelunky etc I thought were okay but never finished.)

See, I have gotten to the fourth level about 4 or 5 times. I guess itís just because I donít really know what the power ups do and find that most of them are more of a hindrance than a help atm.

Also, the only being able to shoot in 4 directions is a pain when enemies can move around the floor (quickly)

Collections count as just one game, right? I'm only playing one at a time. Want to smash out the four core DMC's before DMC5.
