Link's Awakening is 100% complete! All collectables found and all dungeons/bosses beaten. It was a 0 death run too, so I got the ever-so-slightly extended ending. \o/

It's a fantastic remake of a fantastic game that promised so much potential for future Zelda games. Little did the 7 year old me know, but I'd not enjoy another Zelda game anywhere near as much until Breath of the Wild (some 24 years later!). Ooph.

Not sure what's next. I've got Yoshi's Island on the go, which needs to be added to the list. I'm also about ready to pick up Dead Cells and see if that lives up to the hype!

    Bastion 🦆
2.49 euro in the eshop sale, it would be rude not to. Never played it before, liking it so far. Might even get Transistor as well.

    🦆Shakedown Hawaii

Not the greatest game ever but I like its mixture of daftness and broken economy.

Dead Cells needs to be added to my list! First run got me just past the first boss and I learned not to open a cursed chest. Had to kill 10 enemies without taking a hit. :(

    Very satisfying to play, though

And Bastion is done. Good game, loved the narrator. Not the awesome wow game that the reviews made it out to be, but just good.

Now I want something with more meat, either DQXI or DOS2. Decisions...

DOS2 is the better of the 2 choices.

(Based on the first 60 hours of DOS2 vs the 5 hour demo of DQXI which is admittedly an unfair comparison).

I've loved both of those. They're like perfect examples of the Japanese vs. Western RPG, and are both great for different reasons. You can't go wrong with either pick, but if you're not sure you could always download the DQXI demo and see if you like it. It's a *very* generous demo.

🦆Yooka Laylee & the Impossible Lair

First impressions are good but it seems that the Rayman games are the only modern 2D platformers that really click with me.

Until Dawn: Rush of Blood started and completed.

At just over 3 hours, I don't even know if I should be counting it as a game. Still, it's only my 2nd game completed in VR, so it must be some kind of achievement.

I decided to opt for DOS2. I had already played the DQXI demo and really liked it, but I wanted something different than a JRPG this time round. DQXI will come later.

I also bought Celeste in the eshop sale, so please add to my list:
    Divinity: Original Sin 2
    Celeste

That should keep me busy for a while ;)

@Phattso I've got an idea for next year's challenge. I was thinking that we take some inspiration from the 52 Game Challenge thread and have each person manage their own list. Every time one completes a game, or buys a new game, they update and re-publish the list in their latest thread post. We can continue using targets and ducks to visualise which games have been completed/exhausted and which ones remain unfinished/unplayed. This way, you and rice_sandwich don't have to worry about keeping on top of it all and we can just call people as and when they update their lists.

Also, if that sounds good, I was thinking about introducing more flexible rules. So, instead of a limit of 5 games, allow folk to buy and play like mad for the full 12 months and then tally up the results in December. Those who have completed, say... 80% of their purchases, pass the challenge. Those who fall under that percentage, well they fail. This way it allows folks to capitalise on any sales throughout the year, but exposes them as frauds if they fail to play those games properly.

The problem with that is I dont feel the need to complete a game to consider that Ive played it properly.

@DangerousDave_87 everyone has their own notion of what might fly, and yours is one of many notions we could try. However I think it pretty much encourages and endorses most of the bad behaviour that weve spent a year and a half trying to eradicate! 😂

Ok. Scrap that last part, but I do think we can, at least, manage or own lists, which should help you guys out.

You have this little lot on your list:

Persona 5, Horace, Dead Cells, Vampyr, Control

Did I miss a completion or did you just go out in a blaze of Goosey Glory? :)

First page updated. That was almost three weeks without an update there - sorry, folks. Bollocks of a house move, bitch of a time at work, and some family stuff to travel around to. Should get back to being more regular (or at least the regular amount of slovenliness) from now.

Or, every participant could just post under the first post in the thread and edit their own post through the whole year. It's fun to browse through how everyone's doing at the start of the thread.

The likely solution is a shared user account accessed by a few volunteers to update the front page and a few folk updating the spreadsheet on a rota basis. That way Phattso and I won't have to continue to make the HUNDREDS of updates that we have made this year.

Take off Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 (really enjoyed it, very generous game too with tons of content and one I'll not be trading in)

Adding Assassins Creed Odyssey and Kingdom Come: Deliverance*

*so yeah this is pretty stupid really, but the digital sale on both these got me, now I have 3 massive open world games on my to do list...so now the ultimate ban on buying stuff begins. See you in about 300 hours then.
