Ok Phattso, let's get the show on the road:

1- Abzu. Just playing to the end and maybe mopping up a bit, but not full game completion.

2- Doom 2016. Finish campaign. Got it ages ago from Jono, I enjoy it when I play it, yet never really feel the drive to play it the next day. Adding it here might mean I finally finish the damned thing! 😃

Anyone got dead cert purchases? Iím going to be balancing clearing backlog and clearing a couple of slots for:

    Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
    Trials Rising

Think they are fairly close release wise, so hopefully I will be able to manage those slots,

I'm pretty damn sure I'll be picking up Resi 2 at the end of the month. Sekiro is also a likely candidate. I've still got a couple of slots open on the list but I should be able to clear off Shadow of the Tomb Raider and possibly Prey in the next couple of weeks.

My only definite purchases for this year are Fire Emblem 3 Houses and Animal Crossing. Anything else will depend on timing as I won't be playing anything else once those two release.

As for backlog, I'm currently enjoying Xenoblade Chronicles on my Wii and that's my main goal this year having neglected it since release day. Otherwise I have a few 3DS games, Kirby & Yoshi which I want to play too.

Is Sekiro the FROM game? What's the other feudal Japan action game that's coming out this year? I mix them up.

OK yes, thanks. That's the Sucker Punch one isn't it. No one looking forward to that? It looks pretty, if nothing else.

Well, 11 days in and I've only played 2 games. This might just be working!

50 hours on BF V, and I think about half way through the campaign in Parkitect.

I'm still not playing anything - 3.5 months now.
Tempted to grab AssCreed Odyssey or Mario Bros Deluxe, but I'm not sure.

Not sure what's up with my disinterest at the moment.

I kind of expect Ghost of Tsushima to be a next Gen launch window title. (Which in turn I expect to be second half of next year).

Hereís a question. What if I am particularly shit at a game and canít seem to progress part a certain area? Dark Souls 1 remastered ruins me every time I play it, especially now there arenít that many people playing online. Could that be removed it you hit a brick wall?

My thinking regarding this is that my condition for removing a game like this from the list will be "Complete the game or play for X hours (whichever occurs first)". That way, even if it's something I get completely stuck on, I'll know I've given it a fair whack.

Yeah. It stays on the list. For two reasons: firstly to encourage you to get good, and secondly to act as a reminder that you should avoid challenging games if you canít get good. ;-)

3rd... using a challenging section as a get out for a game.

i stopped playing knack cos bullshit happened and i decided i didnt want to play it anymore.

Must admit i avoid overly challenging games for that reason. If something is going to need to be repeated over 5 times in order for me to complete it, it probably won't get completed. Like the boss from Doom or Zelda, still haven't done them.

There are exceptions like sections of the Witcher 3 where i've persevered.

For me, the frustration far outweighs the gratification of finally doing something difficult. I game to relax.

I expect Total Warhammer 2 to stay on my list for a long time :D

I've set my goal for that to be 'finish main campaign as any faction' to be considered complete, but will probably want to give them all a go for a few hours each before committing to one (like I did for the first game)

Not that I'm in a rush to finish it, can even see myself maybe picking up the Tomb Kings or another DLC faction at some point, a nice long term game

Last year's challenge made me realise that I could do a little more than I thought I could - almost complete annihilation of Hollow Knight as proof - and that I was missing out on a lot of good sections in games because I'd noped out of a difficulty spike.

Definitely worth sticking with it. That said, I'm so appalling at all of the Souls games that I wouldn't even think about attempting one any more.

Problematic. Under such a rule, I would not give - say, Celeste - a chance. How can I know if itís too difficult? I blasted through Hotline Miami 1 and 2, but I am completely terrible at Enter the Gungeon. Difficulty is subjective. And at my age, I donít ďgit gudĒ anymore. I am able to do something, or I am not. And itís all going downhill. :)

@UncleLou if it helps, i suck at celeste and died over 2,288 times but still managed to beat it.

I think Celeste has set levels so it can be learned. Whereas Enter the Gungeon is all reaction based which cannot be.

At least I hope Celeste can be learned as I fancy playing it.
